A lot of Republicans say that now that the Mueller report is finished, it is time to move on from the Trump-Russia investigation and let it all go.
But every day, we learn more and more evidence that the Obama administration broke the law to try to destroy Donald Trump.
For example, James Comey has testified under oath that the FBI did not spy on the Trump campaign. But we learned this past week, that Comey approved placing an FBI asset in the Trump campaign to literally spy on them. Obama White House officials have long claimed that they had nothing to do with the FBI's Russia investigation. However, text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page show that not only did the Obama White House demand a briefing, but they personally approved the probe to move forward.
But the latest news is a true bombshell. We know that the Obama administration used the Clinton campaign's "dossier" to launch their surveillance against the Trump campaign. We are now learning that a State Department official flagged the dossier as untrustworthy, but the Obama administration decided to use it anyway!
In order to get a surveillance warrant to spy on an American citizen, the government must submit evidence to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) Court that the target is working for a foreign government.
Not only did the Obama administration get a FISA warrant, but they went back three times to get the warrant extended. In order for that to happen, the government has to show a judge that the surveillance uncovered new evidence supporting the original suspicion.
We know from the Mueller Report that there was never any evidence that Trump colluded with the Russian government. The only "evidence" was the Clinton campaign's dossier claiming that Trump was a Russian spy.
Up until now, the FBI and DOJ have claimed that they didn't mislead the court because they thought the dossier was truthful and had no reason to doubt its authenticity.
Allow me to introduce you to Kathleen Kavalec, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State during the Obama administration. On October 11, 2016, she met with Christopher Steele -- the dossier's author -- and admitted not only that Hillary Clinton was the benefactor, but that the dossier had to be made public before the election was over in order to have the most political impact.
It took Kavalec just one meeting to determine that Christopher Steele was untrustworthy, that the dossier was funded by the Clinton campaign, and that it was designed to politically damage Donald Trump's campaign. She wrote up a memo and flagged the dossier as untrustworthy.
Ten days later, the Obama administration marched into the FISA court and declared to the judge that the dossier was "corroborated" and "reliable." But most importantly, the Obama administration declared that they were "unaware of any derogatory information pertaining to [Steele]."
Not only did they fabricate evidence to start their witch hunt, but they lied to a Federal judge to get him to approve their surveillance warrant.
This is the smoking gun we've been waiting for!
You were never supposed to know any of this. This Deep State plot to stop Donald Trump was supposed to work. They expected Hillary Clinton to win and then they'd be able to cover all of this up.
They came this close to succeeding.
But do you want to know what is even scarier? Republicans want to let them just get away with it.
President Trump has authorized Congressional Republicans to criminally investigate these people and the GOP is begging him to let it all go. McConnell and Pelosi are both blocking the investigation from moving forward. Imagine that... Republican leadership is actually helping Democrats cover up the Deep State’s treason.
President Trump is applying maximum pressure on Congress to force them to fight back, but these GOP cowards don’t answer to Trump... they answer to you!
If these Obama and Clinton criminals are not held accountable, the Deep State will try this again.
Comey, McCabe, Strzok, and their Obama allies broke the law. They misled a Federal court, lied under oath to Congress, leaked classified information to damage a political opponent, and unconstitutionally spied on a candidate, transition, and Presidential administration.
These crimes must have consequences.
