One week ago, the Supreme Court issued the most disgusting ruling that this country has seen in decades. The Supreme Court ruled that California is allowed to continue their coronavirus shutdown targeting churches.
The opinion, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, argued that California's anti-church restrictions were not unconstitutional because they applied the same lockdown standards to non-religious gatherings as well. Essentially, the Supreme Court ruled that states are allowed to prohibit people from going to church as long as they also prohibit them from going out to movie theaters or concert halls as well.
This opinion was bogus then, and it is bogus now. But since the Supreme Court issued this decision, a lot has changed. We have seen nationwide protests, riots, and looting. Leftists agitators have completely ignored the coronavirus lockdown restrictions. They have defied mask orders and refused to social distance.
Now, the same Democrat Politicians who arrested and fined churchgoers decided that a different set of rules should apply for Democrat protesters.
Leftists argued before the Supreme Court that their coronavirus restrictions were faith-blind. But this week, California politicians stopped pretending and announced that protesters would NOT need to obey the same rules and regulations being applied to churches!
In California, the limit on gatherings is now being lifts to 12 people. That is the limit on how many people are allowed to gather in one place for a social affair.
But protesters now have a different cap. If you want to go out in the streets and protest, you cannot gather more than 100 people in one place. And that is being completely ignored. There are thousands of people marching in the streets protesting, and not one of them have been ticketed for violating the governor's social distancing standards. But Churches are being threatened with permanent closure if they let even one extra person in to attend their services.
Just a couple weeks ago, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio sent police into Jewish neighborhoods to break up a funeral for a beloved local Rabbi. De Blaso ruled that any funeral service with more than 10 attendees would be broken up and the participants would be arrested. But this week, Bill de Blasio violated his own order and joined thousands of protesters holding a memorial service for George Floyd. He was booed by the crowd.
California told the Supreme Court that they should be allowed to close churches because they were applying the same standard to all gatherings. That was a lie and it is plain to see.
Luckily, past generations knew a day like this would come. They foresaw that states would openly violate their residents' rights and that the Supreme Court would let it happen.
That is why Congress and the states ratified the Fourteenth Amendment in 1868. Section One of the Fourteenth Amendment says that,
"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
This amendment is part of what gives the President of the United States to invoke provisions of the Insurrection Act. But it also gives Congress the authority to intervene when the Courts ignore clear violations of Americans' rights.
And it is up to YOU to force them to act!
Right now, Leftist politicians are blocking from practicing their faith, while simultaneously also encouraging Black Lives Matter protesters to gather in much larger numbers.
Americans are literally having their rights violated. Liberals say that faith is a "non-essential" activity, but have branded these protests as "essential."
But in doing so, they have invalidated the Supreme Court's ruling. They can no longer claim that churches and non-religious gatherings are being held to the same standards. It is plain for everyone to see that people of faith are having their religious freedom rights flagrantly violated.
As I said, Congress has the authority and duty under the Fourteenth Amendment to intervene and restore the rights of the faithful. The Supreme Court refused to defend the Constitution, so that duty now falls to the Congress.

By turning a allowing these protesters to defy the lockdown rules, Liberal politicians have now proven that their restrictions against churches are unconstitutional.
