Could you imagine how successful President Trump would be if Mitch McConnell had a spine?
There are literally hundreds of nominees waiting to be confirmed by the Senate, but Mitch McConnell is allowing Democrats to block them.
Why? Because Mitch McConnell thinks preserving the rules are more important.
The Senate is responsible for confirming Executive and Judicial nominees. The current rules allow for 30 hours of debate per nominee.
It would be impossible to dedicate 30 hours to each nominee. That would take years. So, the rules allow for Congress to skip that debate. But if Democrats object, they can force the Senate to spend the full 30 hours considering the nominee.
That is what the Left is doing. Every time one of Trump's nominees comes to the floor, one of the Democrats object. Since there isn't unanimous consent for an up or down vote, the Democrats force the Senate to spend the full 30 hours debating the nominee.
That is why after 14 months, almost half of the President's nominees still have not received a vote.
Now, Trump is putting the pressure on Mitch McConnell, demanding that he ditch these rules and confirm the President's people, or else.
But President Trump needs your help to make it happen!
Trump posted a tweet this morning calling McConnell and the GOP out for letting the Democrats obstruct like this.
"The Democrats continue to Obstruct the confirmation of hundreds of good and talented people who are needed to run our government... A record in U.S. history. State Department, Ambassadors and many others are being slow walked. Senate must approve now!"
But it isn't even just the Senate rules on confirmations. Mitch McConnell and the GOP leadership are also clinging to the rules that make it harder to pass legislation. Even though there is enough support to pass things like Concealed Carry Reciprocity or a Border Wall, they are letting the Democrats filibuster.
In private, the President has given McConnell and the establishment an ultimatum: confirm the nominees, or step aside. Pass the conservative agenda, or step aside.
Grow a backbone, or step aside!
This isn't just about the Senate. Trump is calling on Paul Ryan to pick up the pace too and start putting legislation on his desk.
But he needs your help. The President needs you to put the pressure on Congress and FORCE them to pass the conservative agenda.
Will you do that? Will you please fight for a Conservative future?
Or are you ok with the Democrats running out the clock?
