Last week President Trump pulled out of the UN's Paris Climate Treaty and the Democrats and their globalist allies flipped out. After claiming for years that the Paris Agreement wasn't binding, the United Nations is now claiming that America isn't allowed to withdraw.
That's right. Barack Obama signed an international agreement that locks America into it for the next four years, all done without Congressional approval as the Constitution requires.
The UN thinks they've won. It will take an act of Congress to void the unconstitutional agreement Barack Obama signed and so far, both Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have refused to do anything. Even though they were seen clapping at Trump's speech announcing America's withdrawal from the agreement, they are refusing to back that up through action.
Last year, when the Obama administration allowed the United Nations to place sanctions on Israel, both Republicans and Democrats promised that they would move to defund the UN. Just to show how bipartisan this was, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and even Chuck Schumer supported punitive action against the UN. And yet, even though there was bipartisan support for the bill to defund the United Nations, Congress did nothing.
With Congress once again sitting on its hands, the United Nations is celebrating. They expect Congress to just roll over on their radical climate demands. But the Trump administration announced today, 'not so fast.'
The White House is now threatening to withdraw from a number of United Nations programs and to pull taxpayer dollars from the international organization. That includes withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council, one of the parts of the United Nations that Congress promised to defund late last year because of its anti-Israel bias.
Do you see what Trump is doing? He knows that Congress promised to defund the United Nations and he knows that they are trying to hide from that promise. So, he is bringing the issue up once again to force them to act, but he needs your help!
Every year, the United States gives billions to the United Nations and its programs. They then use that funding to undermine us and our interests. The United Nations is even using US taxdollars to fund the legal fight to stop Trump from withdrawing from the Paris Climate Treaty.
The only way to put an end to this is to pull funding from the United Nations and that requires an act of Congress.
We're not going to be able to convince Democrats to defund the United Nations over issues like their gun control agenda or radical climate treaty. But we do have well over a hundred Democrat Members of Congress on the record promising to pull funding from the United Nations if it keeps going after the State of Israel. So, the Trump administration is using this to demand action.
UN Ambassador Nikki Haley just declared that the United States is preparing to withdraw from the very UN body that is targeting Israel.
"When the council passes more than 70 resolutions against Israel, a country with a strong human rights record, and just seven resolutions against Iran, a country with an abysmal human rights record," she said, "you know something is seriously wrong."
This is about more than just Israel. This is about forcing Democrats and RINOs to defend promises they made just SIX months ago, pledging to defund the United Nations if the body kept going after Israel. Trump is calling the Left's bluff. He is calling the GOP's bluff. He is putting them in a position where they either reveal themselves to be complete frauds or they defund the United Nations.
That's a win-win.
When this issue was front and center last December, there were enough votes to pass it. However, just as Congress was preparing to bring it to a vote, the Congressional session ended.
Democrats and RINOs celebrated, thinking they had run out the clock and saved themselves from voting to defund the United Nations. They think they're in the clear.
Just like that, Pres. Trump has thrust the UN-Israel issue back to the front page. He is calling the Left's bluff.
When the House of Representatives held a test vote on whether to take action against the United Nations, it passed with a bipartisan supermajority of 342-80. The Senate's resolution had 68 co-sponsors, more than enough to pass. Since then, the Democrats and RINOs have been praying that they wouldn't have to take real action. They're now out of time...
The votes are there to defund the United Nations. President Trump is creating the conditions to force another vote by withdrawing from the UN's anti-Israel bodies. It is up to you to demand that Congress do the same, just like you did last year!
