Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats waged the most biased and partisan impeachment process in American history. For the first time ever, the House of Representatives passed impeachment articles on a party line vote. Not one Republican voted for their sham impeachment charges...
Pelosi claimed that the impeachment process had to be rushed in order to "save Democracy," whatever that means. But after the House voted to approve impeachment articles, Pelosi decided to pump the brakes and now refuses to deliver the articles to the Senate.
Democrats are now demanding that Senate Republicans give them control over the impeachment trial in the Senate. Otherwise, Pelosi will refuse to allow a trial to continue. She is literally holding the country hostage right now.
The Constitution is clear. The House has the sole power over impeachment and the Senate has the sole power to conduct the trial. What Nancy Pelosi is doing is flagrantly unconstitutional, but unfortunately, her plan is working. The longer she waits, the more Republicans are turning against the President and siding with the Democrats!
Basically, Nancy Pelosi is playing a game of keep-away. Less than 500 feet separate the House of Representatives and the Senate, and Pelosi believes that she can indefinitely block the trial simply by hiding the official copy of the impeachment resolution from Senate Republicans...
Before an impeachment trial can begin, the Senate has to agree to how the trial will be run. They need to vote on a rules package.
Even though the Constitution says that the Senate has the sole power to decide this, Nancy Pelosi is trying to seize control over the trial. They only need FOUR Republicans to flip in order to give Pelosi and Schumer the power to control the trial.
And unfortunately, Pelosi's plan is working. Three Republicans -- Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Mitt Romney -- have now indicated that they plan to vote with Democrats to force Trump officials, and possibly even Trump himself, to testify in the trial. If just one more GOPer flips, it is game over...
That is why it is so important to fight back right now! Our goal today is to bury Congress in a half million FaxBlasts ordering them to stop Nancy Pelosi! Our plan has two parts.
(1) Force someone in the House of Representatives, anyone, to transmit the Articles of Impeachment from the House of Representatives to the Senate. As silly as it seems, we need to force at least one person to walk the Resolution 500 feet across Capitol Hill. And there is no provision in the Constitution or in the law that requires Pelosi to be the one who delivers it.
(2) Force the Senate to change the rules to smack Pelosi back down. The Constitution gives the Senate the "sole power" to run the trial. The only hold up right now is that the Senate Rules require Pelosi to name the House's prosecutors and deliver the articles before the trial can proceed. It only takes a 51-vote majority to change the rules to stop Pelosi from blocking the trial.
Pelosi is literally violating the Constitution to try to remove Trump from office. Not only is she violating the Senate's sole power over the trial, but she is denying Trump his right to a speedy trial.
But with our campaign today, we can pull the rug out from under Pelosi and put a stop to this for good!
Pelosi has done immeasurable damage to the country. She rushed through impeachment articles without even a semblance of due process, and now she is once again violating the constitution to block Trump from getting his day in court.
But her plan is working. Three Republicans have already come out in support of Chuck Schumer's plan to run the trial. If just one more GOPer flips, it is all over...
We have a chance, right here and now, to kill this sham impeachment. But we need to act fast!
Stop her!
