That seems ridiculous, right? But Liberals are actually arguing that it doesn't. When the Supreme Court ruled in 2008 that Americans have a right to own and carry weapons, Leftist judges around the country started interpreting that to mean that the 2nd Amendment only protects a right to keep and bear arms inside the home.
It is ludicrous. With the exception of the 3rd Amendment -- the government cannot force you to let troops live inside your home -- no other amendment in the Bill of Rights is limited to the home. Imagine being told that you have a right to pray, but only inside your house. If you have a right to self-defense, then of course it applies outside in the world where you are most likely to need to defend yourself...
New York City, however, disagreed. They had a law on the books that limited where residents were allowed to transport guns inside the city (to/from a home, gun range, business, gunsmith, etc) and made it illegal to transport a handgun outside of New York City. Imagine that. You purchase a handgun and the city says you are not allowed to bring it outside...
The Supreme Court agreed earlier this year to hear the challenge to NYC's gun transportation ban. Liberals shuddered in terror. If the Supreme Court ruled that Americans have a right to possess a firearm outside, that would topple dozens of anti-gun rulings across the country. It would tear down more than a century of state-level anti-gun and anti-carry laws.
When there is a pending court case, anyone is allowed to file a brief to the Supreme Court arguing for or against a particular case. Democrats are now using this to issue a warning to the Supreme Court demanding that they stand down. No, that is not an exaggeration...
Senators Whitehouse (D-RI), Hirono (D-HI), Blumenthal (D-CT), Durbin (D-IL), and Gillibrand (D-NY) -- all shown above -- just submitted a brief warning that if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the 2nd Amendment, they will regret it.
"The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it. Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be 'restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.' Particularly on the urgent issue of gun control, a nation desperately needs it to heal."
This is a pointed threat. Democrats are already promising to pack the Supreme Court with liberal Justices if they win the White House in 2020. These Democrats are telling the Supreme Court that if they want to keep the bench at nine Justices, they should rule against the 2nd Amendment... They are so terrified of having to let American citizens defend themselves in public that they are threatening the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, conservatives in Congress have heard our call. There is a concerted push going on right now within the Freedom Caucus and from conservatives in the Senate to push a massive concealed carry bill through. But they need your help to finish this!

We have covered, at length, all of the anti-gun bills that Republicans are considering. We are starting to see real results in blocking the Left's most radical gun bills. But the pro-gun Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (CCRA) is starting to gain steam once again as well.
The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act has a simple premise. If you are allowed to carry a concealed weapon in one state, then you should have the right to carry it in all 50 states. Unless you are a police officer, that is impossible today. No civilian can carry in all 50 states. I have three active carry permits and I only have reciprocity in 36 states. While some states would allow me to carry if I applied for their carry permits, CA, NY, NJ, IL, MA, MD, RI, CT, OR, and DC all refuse to let any out-of-state visitors carry there. Just to put it in perspective, more than 31% of all Americans live in these anti-gun states.
The CCRA would put an end to the patchwork system of reciprocity laws by forcing states to treat concealed carry permits the same way they treat out-of-state driver's licenses. But it would also liberate the law-abiding citizens who are living behind the gun control iron curtain. Since the bill would give reciprocity to any state-issued carry permit, gun owners in states like New Jersey, New York, and California would able to get a permit to carry from, say, Florida, and then use it to carry in their own state as well.
And the best part of this bill is that if you live in one of the 15 states with Constitutional or Permit-less Carry, where any law-abiding citizen can carry without a permit, then you would get nationwide reciprocity too. All you would have to do is carry a state-issued ID proving you live in a Constitutional carry state.
Democrats are terrified. That is why we just saw sitting Senators lash out and threaten the Supreme Court. More specifically, they are trying to threaten Chief Justice John Roberts. He is the new swing vote. If they can flip him, then they can save their unconstitutional gun control regimes.
I don't know about you, but I don't trust John Roberts. I don't trust any judge to defend our constitutional rights. When it comes to the 2nd Amendment, if you don't fight for it, you will lose it!
Right now, we have a chance to attach the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act to the gun control package being debated in Congress and finally restore the right to carry to all law-abiding Americans nationwide. We have a chance to restore the right to carry, regardless of what the Supreme Court decides.

We see, time and time again, that concealed carry saves lives. We know that mass shootings only end when armed police arrive at the scene. But when seconds count, the police are minutes away.
But when good people carry concealed handguns, mass shootings are stopped faster and even prevented all together.
Congress is looking to pass some kind of gun bill after last week's mass shootings. We are fighting with everything we've got to stop the worst of the gun control bills from making it through. We are making serious progress. But this is a chance to finally go on offense. Instead of trying to defend our rights, this is an opportunity to expand the 2nd Amendment and restore the right to carry to all law-abiding Americans.
We can win this, but we have to fight now!
