In five days, Congress will officially begin voting on the Democrats' gun and magazine ban bills!
Yesterday, we ran a FaxBlast campaign pressuring Congress to kill two gun confiscation bills that the House will start voting on next week. As we explained, these two bills would create new Federal "prohibited person" provisions in the law and revoke innocent Americans' gun rights.
But this isn't the only thing that the Left plans to push through this coming week...
They are also going to be holding votes on two gun ban bills as well: a bill to ban limit how many bullets citizens are allowed to have in their magazines and another bill to ban tens of millions of the most popular firearms in the country!
This is the Left's strategy. They are throwing everything they've got at this, hoping that Republicans will cave and at least let one of their radical gun control bills through.
But of course, the Republicans haven't figured this out. They are caving to ALL of the left's gun control demands!
You must stop them!
The first bill that is being put to a vote is the Keep Americans Safe Act. Don't let the legislation's name fool you, it is a complete lie.
The Keep Americans Safe Act would ban so-called "high capacity" ammunition magazines. It would make it illegal for civilians to possess or acquire magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
First of all, a magazine is nothing but a box with a spring. This isn't advanced technology. Anyone with basic power tools can build one of these in their garage. The law wouldn't affect criminals at all. The Parkland High School shooter used 10-round magazines because those are the ones he could fit in his backpack, and he was still able to kill 17 people. Only law-abiding gun owners would suffer under this ban.
Second of all, there is nothing unusual or dangerous about these magazines. When Lewis and Clark set off to explore the American heartland, Thomas Jefferson outfitted them with a rifle that had a 20-round magazine. Think about that. The gun that Thomas Jefferson, the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence, gave to Llewis and Clark in 1804 would be banned under this bill.
But perhaps most importantly, the bill has a huge exception: the ban would not apply to police officers. The police unions lobbied Democrats and pressured them to exempt officers from the ban. They argued that people would die if police officers were forced to reduce their magazine capacity. It would make it harder for officers to defend themselves. Democrats listened, and exempted police officers entirely. They admit gun bans make it harder for civilians to defend themselves too, but they simply dont care.
The amazing thing is that Republicans are lining up to support it. Even Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has endorsed the Democrats' magazine ban! Just three years ago, Rubio ran for President promising never to let this magazine ban pass. Now, he has completely flipped.
But Democrats aren't stopping there. They have also scheduled a vote on the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019. If this bill passes, then tens of millions of the most commonly owned semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols would be banned.
Back in the 1990s, Congress banned two dozen so-called Assault Weapons by name. This new 2019 version of the bill, however, would ban 204 specific brands and models of firearms by name.
And the bill doesn't stop there. It also bans so-called "copy cat" assault weapons. Here, the bill defines an assault weapon as a semi-automatic rifle or shotgun that accepts detachable magazines and has a "pistol grip."
That was in the original 1994 bill. But this time, Democrats have redefined the term pistol grip. In the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, a pistol grip is now defined as a "grip, or any characteristic that can function as a grip."
Simply put, if it is possible to hold a semi-automatic weapon in your hand, that would be enough to classify it as a banned "assault weapon." The ban would also target tens of millions of semi-automatic handguns simply because of their features or accessories.
And just like the other bill, Republicans turncoats are jumping on board to help the Left push it through. Rep. Peter King (R-NY) became the first House Republican to formally attach his name to the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019 last week.. But Reps. Fred Upton (R-MI), Brian Mast (R-FL), Mike Turner (R-OH) have also announced that they will vote for the bill. In the Senate, we are hearing that even more Republicans are considering Feinstein's gun ban bill.
The GOP is negotiating away your 2nd Amendment rights!
The 2nd Amendment is the right that holds up all others. Your right to keep and bear arms, and resist tyrannical governments (if necessary), is what stops the government from infringing on our other rights.
Leftists always want the people disarmed. That is the only way they can control them.
This bill is how they want to do it.
Tens of millions of the most commonly owned firearms would be banned. And by limiting magazine size, the Left wants to make it even harder for us all to defend ourselves.
The first vote is NEXT WEEK. Republicans are negotiating with the Left. They are trying to find common ground. Democrats are trying to ban tens of millions of guns and the GOP cowards are offering to 'meet them halfway.'
This is it. If you want to stop this, you need to get loud right now and fight back!
