Special Warfare Operator Chief Edward Gallagher is an American hero. A highly decorated Navy SEAL, Gallagher has twice received the Bronze Star for Valor for his service on SEAL Teams 1 and 7.
But one morning, Gallagher's entire life was turned upside-down. Early in the morning on September 11, 2018, more than twenty armed NCIS Swat agents stormed his home and took him away in handcuffs. They pulled his young sons out of the home at gunpoint, while they were still in their underwear.
After someone was finally willing to read Gallagher the charges, he learned he was being charged with a number of war crimes, including killing an ISIS fighter and posing for a picture next to the corpse. Instead of saving the gravely wounded ISIS terrorist's life, prosecutors allege that Gallagher killed him and then posed for pictures next to his body.
This is the kind of charge that should be easy to prove. If a photo exists of Gallagher next to a corpse, especially one where he brags about killing the wounded soldier (as the prosecution claims), then it's an open and shut case.
But yesterday, a Navy Judge dropped the charge. Gallagher is no longer being charged with posing next to the dead ISIS fighter. There was no crime committed there and the Navy couldn't present any evidence that it happened.
The foundation of the Navy's case against this hero -- supposed photographic evidence -- was just tossed. That should be the end of this, right? Wrong. Overzealous prosecutors are still going after Edward Gallagher for other charges, including murdering an ISIS terrorist on the battlefield as well as two newer accusations that he killed two "non-combatants" while deployed overseas.
There is no evidence that any of this happened and Gallagher and his unit vehemently deny the charges. Prosecutors have been able to do all of this based on simply anonymous accusations. They can't prove any of this, so they resorted to harassing and threatening his teammates to get them to bear false witness against their Chief.

I have never had the luxury of serving my country, but I have the utmost respect for everyone who has ever put on the uniform. We here at Conservative Daily are constantly monitoring the news for stories of Military heroes being mistreated.
As a member of SEAL Teams 1 and 7, Edward Gallagher was literally the tip of the spear in defending our freedoms and way of life.
This brave man answered the call to protect us and we can never repay that debt. But I am asking you to try anyway and help us free this man!
Gallagher is being grossly mistreated. Not only is he being railroaded, but he is being forced to endure conditions in the brig usually reserved for the worst-of-the-worst criminals.
Gallagher remains locked up in general population, even though he has not even stood trial yet. He is being housed alongside convicted pedophiles, rapists, and other sex offenders. When Gallagher's young children come to visit him, they are required to wear hospital gowns so as not to attract the gaze of the other inmates and they are only allowed to hug their father once per visit.
Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) recently met with Gallagher at the prison and after just 45 minutes with the Chief, Hunter immediate sent a letter to the President of the United States urging Trump to personally intervene and dismiss these ludicrous charges.
"A Navy SEAL with eight combat deployments and two Bronze Stars with Valor deserves better," Rep. Hunter declared.
"Due to the verifiable political nature of the Navy's justice system, I believe that Chief Gallagher's matter needs to be taken away from the Navy and President Trump himself needs to personally review and dismiss this case, taking an American hero out of a prison cell and back on the front lines where he belongs."
Hunter is leading the charge to get this hero released and is now joined by Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL). But that isn't enough. He needs YOUR help to put maximum pressure on Congress and the White House to free this mistreated hero!
Edward Gallagher is a hero. What he is being forced to endure today is unconscionable. He has been locked away with rapists, pedophiles, and murderers without even being allowed to present a defense. He is being blocked from seeing his children and his lawyers.
And every time prosecutors have presented the laundry list of charges before a court, the judges have dismissed a number of them.
This man didn't just answer the call to serve, he went above and beyond in service to this country. He received not one, but two Bronze Stars, both for Valor. On one occasion, Gallagher cleared an entire bazaar and secured a rooftop where he engaged the enemy and saved friendly troops that had been pinned down.
Because so many of Gallagher's exploits are classified, we will never know the true extent of his heroism and service. But based on what we do know, he is the best of us and deserves far better than this.
We need your help to get this hero the justice he deserves. Our goal today is to bombard Congress with a half million FaxBlasts demanding that they fight to get Gallagher released. At that number, we can clog up the fax machines in Congress for almost an entire day.
