Trump just vetoed the anti-border wall bill, but now these GOP traitors are working with Democrats to pull the wall funding once and for all!
Since the moment that Donald Trump signed his executive order authorizing border wall construction to commence, the Left has worked around the clock to figure out a way to stop him.
After pressuring the GOP establishment to stand up to President Trump, Democrats finally got enough Republican votes to override the President's border wall construction project.
At the end of September, both the House and Senate voted on legislation to cancel the national emergency and revoke all border wall construction funding. Democrats ended up getting twenty-two Republicans to vote with them against the border wall.
In the Senate, Democrats flipped Alexander, Blunt, Collins, Lee, Moran, Murkowski, Paul, Portman, Romney, Toomey, and Wicker and in the House, they filpped Amash, Fitzpatrick, Herrera-Beutler, Katko, Johnson (SD), Massie, Rodgers (WA), Rooney (FL), Sensenbrenner, Stefanik, Upton, and Walden.
That was enough to pass the bill and send it to Trump's desk. The GOP establishment was hoping that Donald Trump would realize he didn't have the numbers and agree to abandon the border wall effort.
Well, that didn't happen. Last night, Trump formally vetoed the bill, S.J.Res. 54. He declared that the unsecured border still posed a national security threat and required emergency action to confront it if Congress refused to act.
This is now the second time that the GOP has teamed up with Democrats to kill the border wall, and the second time that Trump vetoed the bill. Republicans are furious and promising to shut down wall construction once and for all!
In the next three weeks, Congress must pass a Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This legislation will authorize the funding for everything from the Coast Guard to Border Patrol.
As we have reported, tucked away in this spending bill is what is known as a "poison pill" amendment that would cancel ALL border wall construction by clawing back the funding. Basically, Democrats are trying to threaten a government shutdown to force the GOP to shut down the border wall project.
The poison pill amendment is found in Section 227 of the bill. It says that not even a cent of tax payer money can go towards border wall construction, renovation, or repair. That's right, if a cartel smuggler cuts a hole or knocks down a section of existing fencing, this amendment would make it illegal for Border Patrol to even patch it up...
And current border wall construction would immediately end. Right now, Trump has built more than 80 miles of new border wall. Over the next 12 months, that number will grow to 505 miles. The land has been acquired, contracts signed, and construction is underway.
That is why the Left is so desperate to stop Trump right here, and right now. They know that once the wall goes up, they won't be able to just tear it down. If they want to keep the border wide open, they need to pull the funding now.
Republicans want an open border, but for different reasons. You see, the GOP's mega donors want more and more cheap labor. They would rather pay illegal aliens spit than have to pay Americans a living wage. That is why the Republicans have been so against the wall. Their corporate donors demand it.
But now that Trump has vetoed their resolution, they are out of options. We can now confirm that Republicans in both the House and Senate are working with Democrats to outlaw border wall construction in the upcoming spending package. The amendment is technically already in the bill. The only thing the Establishment has to do is keep it there...
They know that the media doesn't cover the details of these spending packages. In fact, they are counting on that. They want to keep you in the dark for as long as possible so that by the time you realize they are stabbing you in the back, it will be too late to stop it...
That is why you must fight back right now!
Our pressure campaign is working. While Marco Rubio voted to cancel the border wall earlier in the Spring, he didn't join Democrats this time around. And while 13 Republicans voted against the wall when the bill was put to a vote in February, that number fell to 11 during the most recent vote.
There is only one reason for this: They fear you! They are terrified of having to face the consequences of voting against the border wall. The pressure is working!
But this also makes these GOP traitors more dangerous than ever. They are seeing the support starting to dwindle. They know it is now or never if they want to kill the border wall project.
When Trump took office, there were 353 miles of pedestrian fencing along the border. Over the next year, the administration will build 505 new miles of border wall.
However, if the Democrats and their GOP allies are able to push their amendment through tomorrow, then it is all over...
Our country's future is being written right now. You can still stop this. You can still put the fear in these cowards and force them to stand down.
But time is running out. If you are going to join this fight, you need to act fast!
