Yesterday, we got to see yet another sham impeachment hearing. Instead of hearing from fact witnesses, Democrats once again called three Democrat lawyers to provide their "opinion" on why Donald Trump should be removed from office.
One of these Trump-hating liberals was Pam Karlan, a law professor who was on the short list for a Supreme Court nomination had Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election. Think about that... Democrats turned to Clinton's preferred Supreme Court nominee to make the case for removing Donald Trump from office...
We learned nothing new yesterday whatsoever. And yet, Nancy Pelosi ran to the podium this morning and announced that she has instructed the Judiciary Committee to begin drafting articles of impeachment anyway. She is moving full steam ahead towards a final impeachment vote.
Why is Pelosi moving forward? Pelosi has always said that the House should only vote to impeach if the vote would be bipartisan. Well, we are learning from our sources that the Speaker's office now believes they will have Republican votes.
Not only in the House, but in the Senate as well...
And this is where it gets truly sinister. Pelosi and her anti-Trump allies want to make the impeachment and removal votes anonymous. It sounds ridiculous, but it is possible. The Constitution allows for Congress to hold anonymous votes if an issue, "in their judgement requires secrecy." It takes only a simple-majority vote in either chamber to change the rules to allow for an anonymous vote.
The only thing stopping many Republicans, and even some Democrats, from voting to remove Trump is the fact that their votes would have to be on the record. They know it would be political suicide to vote to undo the 2016 election. But if a vote was held anonymously, then they would be able to "vote their conscience" without having to deal with the electoral consequences.
It would take 20 Republican Senators to flip and remove Trump from office. But it would only take FOUR to flip and join Democrats to make the vote anonymous. We already know that Mitt Romney (UT) and Susan Collins (ME) are considering voting for a secret ballot. Lisa Murkowski (AK) is also considering it. If only just one other Republican was to flip, then they would have the votes to make it a secret ballot.
This has always been how the GOP deals with controversial votes they don't want Conservatives to know about. Infamously, former-Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS) tried to hold a secret vote in committee last year to open up the border and loosen the country's asylum laws. When he was caught, Conservatives turned against him and he was ultimately removed from office last year.
The idea the Establishment is now floating is that if the impeachment vote were held in secret, more Republicans would be able to vote against the President without having to worry about the political consequences of their vote. Democrats are now floating this idea in the House as well. As you know, there are 40 Democrats up for re-election next year in districts that Trump won. In some cases, Trump won their districts by 20% back in 2016. Not only would a secret ballot give cover to Republican turncoats, but it would allow vulnerable Democrats to vote to impeach without having to go on the record.
This is a coup, plain and simple. This is nothing but an attempt to undo the 2016 election and remove a duly elected President from office.
Less than a day after the Judiciary Committee's first impeachment hearing, Democrats are already moving forward with drafting articles of impeachment. Pelosi's office is confident they will get Republican votes, so they want to move full steam ahead right now.
And we finally know what these Establishment traitors' plan is...
They want to overturn the votes of all 63 million Americans who elected Donald Trump. They want to deny you the opportunity to re-elect the President in 11 short months. And now they are moving forward with their plan to make their dream a reality.
