Republican Leadership is now blocking a pro-gun concealed carry bill from being passed!

When the news first broke that there was a shooting in El Paso, the same video started making the rounds on social media.

Army Private First Class Glendon Oakley (shown above) was shopping for clothing when he was interrupted by running and screaming children warning of an active shooter. Oakley immediately put his training to work. Since Glendon Oakley has a license to carry a concealed handgun, he immediately drew his pistol and assessed the situation.

He had a choice: Flee for his life or protect the people around him. He knew that he couldn't just leave these children, so he got to work. He and another man rounded up the 13 terrified children and started leading them to safety. For the ones too small to manage on their own, Oakley carried them himself. In the chaos of that day, this armed civilian used his training and his concealed handgun to make sure all of these children got to safety. But Oakley doesn't want you to call him a hero. He was just doing what he was trained to do.

Statistically, a mass shooter is most likely to be confronted by an armed citizen in the State of Texas. Sure, Texas has a high gun ownership rate. The state also allows all law-abiding citizens to obtain a concealed carry permit. But Texas law also honors concealed carry permits from 45 other states (Texas doesn't honor permits from Minnesota, Maine, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, or Oregon). The government wants more armed law-abiding citizens, like PFC Oakley, to help keep the public safe in a crisis like this.

And in the wake of the El Paso shooting, Texas is once again breaking the mold. Instead of cracking down on guns, Texas will start relaxing its gun laws starting at the end of the month to make it easier for licensed concealed carry permit holders to keep the state safe. That is what we should be doing at a national level. The GOP has already promised that they will pass some form of new gun control. Republicans plan to spend the next week or two debating what it will look like.

In the past week, we have bombarded Congress with hundreds of thousands of FaxBlasts pressuring them to block the unconstitutional gun control bills that the Left is pushing.

But for today's campaign, we want to change it up a bit. Today, we are demanding that Congress follow Texas' lead and pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act to give law-abiding citizens the power to fight back!

Don't let the GOP block this pro-gun bill! Please, send your instant FaxBlast to Congress and FORCE them to pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act... or else!

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act truly is common sense. The bill states that if someone is licensed or permitted to carry a concealed weapon in one state, then that permit/license should be honored by every state.

In a lot of ways, this bill would treat carry permits the way states treat driver's licenses. When you drive across country, you don't have to take a driving test at every state you visit. States accept that while every state has different driving laws, someone who is trained and licensed should be allowed to drive nationwide. They still need to obey all local traffic laws, but states have to honor their license.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would do the same thing. Right now, it is impossible for any American civilian to carry a gun in all fifty states. I personally have concealed carry permits from three different states and even with that, I am only allowed to carry in 36 states...

31% of all Americans live in states that refuse to honor any out-of-state concealed carry permits (CA, NY, NJ, IL, MA, MD, RI, CT, OR, DC). More than 26% of Americans live in states that refuse to even give their own residents the right to carry.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act fixes both of those problems. If you are allowed to carry a concealed weapon in your home state, then you are automatically allowed to do so in all 50 states. I used the word "allowed" because the bill would give reciprocity to people who live in permitless and constitutional carry states like Kansas too. But the legislation would also grant reciprocity to non-resident carry permits. So, a law abiding citizen living in California or New Jersey would be able to get a carry permit from Utah or Florida and then use that permit to carry nationwide... including in their home state!

This one bill would dismantle more than a century of state-level anti-gun and anti-carry laws. Not only would it restore carry rights to a quarter of all Americans, but it would ensure that any law abiding citizen who wants to defend themselves in public would be allowed to. Even if they are traveling across state lines...

We have seen time and time again that concealed carry saves lives. The Supreme Court has even ruled that the right to bear arms means that Americans have a right to carry weapons for self-defense. But for far too long, anti-gun states have gotten away with violating that right.

We can make a difference. We can force Congress to pass this common sense pro-gun bill and empower law-abiding Americans to defend themselves and their communities. But the window is closing...

We have seen time and time again that concealed carry saves lives. The Supreme Court has even ruled that the right to bear arms means that Americans have a right to carry weapons for self-defense. But for far too long, anti-gun states have gotten away with violating that right.

The first question we often get is whether this bill is Constitutional. A lot of people are worried that the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would violate states' rights.

The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 specifically to stop states from violating Americans rights. The 14th Amendment says that when states are found to be violating Americans' liberties, it is up to Congress to put a stop to it. You have a right to carry a firearm for self-defense. If the states will not honor that right, then Congress has the power to step in and force them to...

Right now, the GOP leadership is blocking the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act from reaching the floor. They have agreed to debate new confiscation bills and gun bans, but are refusing to allow law-abiding citizens to defend themselves...

You have the power to force their hand. But you need to make Members of Congress fear you more than the gun control advocates who are burying their offices in calls, letters, and faxes.

But the only way that happens is if you get loud right now and force Republicans and Democrats alike to protect and expand the right to carry!

Don't let the GOP block this pro-gun bill! Please, you must send your instant FaxBlast to Congress and FORCE them to pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act... or else!
