Paul Ryan was trying desperately to pull one over on Donald Trump. His "compromise" amnesty bill was atrocious. Not only did it put illegal aliens on a pathway to citizenship, but the Ryan bill would have left the door open for these illegals to bring all of their family members into the country as well (chain migration). Not only that, but it would have kept the door open for future Congresses to pull the border wall funding without stopping illegal aliens from getting citizenship.
What was even worse was that Paul Ryan's bill reportedly had a veto-proof majority. There were enough RINOs willing to team up with Democrats to override a Trump veto.
On Friday Morning, Trump shocked the world by giving an unannounced morning interview with Fox and Friends. What he said during that interview shocked the GOP establishment.
"I certainly wouldn't sign the more moderate one," Trump said, "I need a bill that gives this country tremendous border security."
Ryan's office was stunned. They expected Trump to bend over and just accept their efforts to sell-out the country.
Conservatives are using this opportunity to strip some of the worst language from Ryan's draft surrender bill.
The immigration lottery will be abolished, chain migration will be reduced to practically nothing, catch-and-release would be outlawed, 25B will go towards border wall construction, and -- the best part -- if Democrats ever try to pull the border wall funding, all of the illegal aliens would immediately lose their legal status.
Conservatives in Congress are still fighting to add amendments to defund sanctuary cities and implement Kate's Law to punish illegal alien repeat offenders.
None of this has happened by accident. On Thursday, we bombarded Congress with close to a million FaxBlasts demanding they stop Ryan's amnesty surrender from moving forward. Thousands of those FaxBlasts also went to the White House.
With the President's help, Conservatives in the Freedom Caucus are now taking Ryan to task. But, unfortunately, the GOP establishment isn't giving up. They know that this is their best shot to flood the US with illegal aliens and cheap labor.
Ryan is going to let the Conservatives have their vote, but he is still going to allow a vote on the Left's amnesty bill in just two days!
Donald Trump was absolutely right to blast Ryan. Paul Ryan was pushing an amnesty bill that even Barack Obama didn't think was possible.
The minute that Trump made his announcement, the cowards in the GOP scrambled to hide from the bill they had been working on.
It was Conservatives in Congress who pressured Donald Trump into smacking Paul Ryan down. And it was YOU who pressured them into action!
The House is bringing these immigration bills to the floor in TWO days. Without your activism, Paul Ryan likely would have succeeded in forcing an amnesty bill on Donald Trump. Ryan's whole goal was to rush his bill to the floor before Conservatives had a chance to rise up.
Thanks to you, he failed.
But this fight isn't over yet. Paul Ryan is still allowing a vote on the Left's amnesty bill. If that legislation gets 25 Republicans to sign onto it, then it will pass. Right now, the bill has 23 GOP co-sponsors.
We are balancing on a razor's edge here. There is absolutely no room for error.
We need to hit them and hit them hard!
If Ryan succeeds in pushing his amnesty bill through, Senate Democrats have already promised to vote for it.
The Speaker's office believed last week that his bill had a supermajority behind it, meaning that there were so many Republicans onboard, they would be able to override the President's veto. Trump's statement forced many of them to run scared, but Ryan is desperate to get them back. His efforts are already starting to work.
This vote is happening on Tuesday.
We are out of time. There are no do-overs on this. If Ryan's amnesty betrayal bill passes, there will be no going back...
I will not allow Paul Ryan surrender this country.
