Absolutely despicable. The Senate held a vote yesterday on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The legislation, quite simply, would have required doctors and nurses to provide life-saving and resuscitative care to any infant born-alive after a botched abortion procedure. Common sense.

We bombarded Congress with more FaxBlasts over the weekend than any other pro-life campaign we have ever launched. With your efforts, we successfully picked off three Democrats: Doug Jones (AL), Joe Manchin (WV), and Bob Casey Jr. (PA).

The final vote ended up being 53-44. Three Republicans did not vote -- Murkowski (AK), Cramer (SD), and Scott (SC) -- because they were absent yesterday. If they had been there to vote yes, the final vote tally would have been 56-44, still four votes shy of the 60 required to pass legislation through the Senate.

Here are the 44 Democrats that shamefully voted to block legislation to protect NEWBORN babies: Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Cory Booker (D-NJ)Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Tom Carper (D-DE), Chris Coons (D-DE), Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)Kamala Harris (D-CA), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Angus King (I-ME), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Ed Markey (D-MA), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Chris Murphy (D-CT), Patty Murray (D-WA), Gary Peters (D-MI), Jack Reed (D-RI), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Brian Schatz (D-HI), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Tina Smith (D-MN), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Jon Tester (D-MT), Tom Udall (D-NM), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Mark Warner (D-VA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Ron Wyden (D-OR).

The names in bold are Democrats who are running for President or have strongly hinted that they're running for President. And they just voted to turn a blind eye to hundreds of infanticides a year...

But do you know who I am also ashamed of? Congressional Republicans who not only refused to push this issue when they held majorities in both chambers, but who are also now declaring defeat when they are four votes away from winning this!

Similar to the issue of gun rights, Republicans treat their pro-life voters with contempt. Some Congressmen and Senators are steadfast and strong towards the pro-life cause. But the majority of the Republican Party does just the minimum necessary to be able to turn around and tell constituents that they "tried."

This bill wasn't even about abortion. It was about whether or not Doctors and Nurses should be required to keep babies alive after they're born.

We went through the numbers a couple of days ago. The CDC estimates that in the past decade, there have been more than 150 babies that were born alive after a botched abortion, but unfortunately passed away shortly after. But even the CDC admits that number is extremely low because abortionists don't report how many failed abortions they've performed. In Canada, where there are about a third of the abortions performed every year, the government reports that there were more than 700 born-alive abortion survivors in just a five year period.

It is not a stretch to say that there are likely hundreds of babies born-alive in the US every year after botched abortions. And the law does not protect them.

There is no sugar coating this. The vast majority of the Democrat Party just voted to protect infanticide. They voted to allow mothers and doctors to deliberately neglect newborn infants and allow them to die from exposure.

I've mentioned it before, but my wife and I had our first child last year. When he was born, he did not immediately start crying. It took a team of nurses to clear his airway in order for him to let out that cry and take his first breath. It felt like an eternity while they were working on him, but it actually took less than 30 seconds. That 30-seconds determined whether my son lived or died. What these Democrats just voted for is to allow doctors and nurses to deliberately do nothing in these situations... I am beyond disgusted.

When these leftists stand before their maker, I hope that they have a really good reason for voting to keep infanticide legal...

But I am also disappointed in Republicans. This bill is just one of many that the GOP promised to pass and that Donald Trump promised to sign. They include the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the Child Tax Credit for Pregnant Moms Act, and a number of others.

President Trump has ended up being the most pro-life President in American history. If only he had a Congress that cared as much about the dignity of human life...

The GOP is now saying it is time to move on. Not just are they abandoning the bill to protect newborns from infanticide, but they're saying it's time to move beyond abortion entirely.

Democrats are already licking their lips. Last week, President Trump cut off 50 million in funding to Planned Parenthood. Pelosi is promising to restore all of that funding and the GOP is just going to let her!

We came incredibly close on this bill, just four votes away from hitting the 60-vote threshold in the Senate. You shamed Republicans and Democrats into standing up for these babies.

You CANNOT let them turn their back on the most vulnerable among us!

The Left has become so radical, they are now openly embracing elective third trimester abortions. They are even defending a mother's "right" to kill a newborn after birth. It is disgusting.

What does it say about us if we don't fight back? What does it say about us if we allow the GOP to abandon this issue?

We aren't done fighting. We aren't done pressuring and shaming Republicans and Democrats into protecting these babies.

Will you please help us?
