In case you missed it, the Trump administration announced last night that they were opening a full criminal investigation into Planned Parenthood and their sale of fetal tissue.
As you remember, Planned Parenthood executives were caught on camera bragging about being able to buy fancy cars from all the profit from the sales of baby body parts. It is illegal under federal law to profit off of the sale of human tissue. The Obama administration claimed there was nothing to see here and California actually went after the group and filmmaker that caught these crimes on tape.
Well, Trump and Attorney General Sessions both believe that this was blatantly illegal. So, the entire weight of the Federal government is now coming down on Planned Parenthood's network of butcher shops.
Democrats are vowing to keep the abortion business up and running, however, demanding that Planned Parenthood be funded for another calendar year.
The deadline to fund the government is today. The House just voted on a continuing resolution to kick the can down the road for another week or so. This gives us a little more time to fight to have Planned Parenthood defunded entirely, but we have to act now!
The American people give Planned Parenthood a half billion a year. We literally keep their lights on. Yet, that wasn't enough. They needed to supplement this taxpayer assistance by selling aborted babies. And what is even more shameful is that the previous administration covered for them.
Together, we forced the GOP to investigate this heinous crime. That, in turn, gave the FBI all the evidence it needed to move forward. We forced the GOP to introduce a measure to defund Planned Parenthood. It was attached to Obamacare repeal. It passed the House and then failed in the Senate by one vote (John McCain). But he was voting against Obamacare's repeal, not to protect abortion funding...
Now, we have a second chance.
Democrats are scrambling to protect Planned Parenthood's funding. They know that if these abortionists are indicted, the funds will run out. They are trying to secure another five hundred million dol lars for Planned Parenthood before it's too late.
They are also working to try to block the Trump Justice Department from accessing documents from the Congressional investigations into Planned Parenthood.
President Trump is honoring his promises. Now it is up to us to force the Congressional GOP to do the same!
My wife and I are expecting our first child in late January. Words can't describe how excited I am to become a father and hear my baby boy cry for the first time.
But in so many operating rooms across the country, a baby's cry means something else entirely. It means pain, it means death, and for Planned Parenthood, it apparently means profit as well.
It is shameful that taxpayers continue to prop up this organization. It is time to pull the plug on this abortion business once and for all.
The end of the year means a chance to for Congress to use the power of the purse. The GOP leadership seems pre-occupied with surrendering again, even though they hold all the cards. They still don't know how to win.
It is up to YOU to force them to defund Planned Parenthood.
These babies can't fight for themselves. Only we can fight for them.
And fight, we will!
