Democrats have been promising for decades that they don't want to take away anyone's guns. That was a lie. It has always been a lie.

Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke stood on the Democratic debate stage this week and admitted what we have known all along. Democrats are coming for our guns. A presidential candidate promised to violate the 2nd Amendment and seize law-abiding Americans' firearms, and the audience cheered.

Briscoe Cain, a State Representative in Texas, responded to O'Rourke's threat and posted on Twitter that "my AR-15 is ready for you Robert Francis." If O'Rourke wanted to confiscate Americans' firearms, Cain was simply daring him to "Come and Take It," just as the Texan Revolutionaries dared the Mexican Army at the Battle of Gonzales.

Robert Francis O'Rourke turned around and actually reported Cain to the FBI for "death threats." He reported this state legislator so that the Federal government could confiscate his firearms.

Just so we are absolutely clear: a Presidential candidate promised to violate the 2nd Amendment and confiscate Americans' firearms, but promising to defend yourself against this tyranny constitutes a "death threat"...

On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee approved the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019. Working with Establishment Republicans, they are now moving to hold a floor vote on this gun confiscation bill this coming week.

Under this legislation, even if you haven't broken any laws, the government would be able to confiscate your firearms simply by declaring that you are "dangerous"...

The bill would authorize confiscation raids against anyone a Court deems could pose "a danger of causing harm to himself, herself, or others in the near future by having access to a firearm."

But it doesn't have to even be criminal harm. As we saw from O'Rourke, simply promising to exercise self-defense rights is enough to brand someone as "dangerous."

Last month, FBI agents used Oregon's Red Flag confiscation law to disarm a free-speech protestor named Shane Kohfield. Last year, Kohfield participated in a free speech rally in Portland and was attacked by 40 Antifa protestors. Vowing never to let this happen again, Kohfield spoke at a rally this year and said that "if Antifa starts slaughtering us, we have to be prepared to slaughter them back..."

Not exactly the best thing to shout from a loudspeaker in front of the Mayor's house, but this technically was a promise to exercise self-defense. IF radical leftists decided to attack the Conservative protestors, which they always do, THEN Kohfield was promising to fight back.

But under Oregon's Extreme Risk Protection Order law, that self-defense statement was enough for a judge to deem him "dangerous" and confiscate his firearms for one year. That confiscation order can also be extended indefinitely until Kohfield convinces a judge that he isn't dangerous anymore...

This man has not been charged with any crimes. He was temporarily admitted to a Veterans Hospital for a mental health evaluation, but doctors concluded he was not mentally defective or dangerous. Legally, Shane Kohfield is an innocent man. But the State of Oregon has still decided that he has to give up his right to keep and bear arms indefinitely...

This is what Red Flag laws look like and we are seeing cases like this all across the country. A 61-year-old man in Maryland was raided after an angry family member turned him into police to have his guns confiscated. He was shot dead in his own doorway when he resisted the confiscation order. In Connecticut, Police arrested a young man for threatening a mass shooting. But then, officers also raided his Father's firearm collection and revoked his right to keep and bear arms as well.

In Florida, an innocent man had his carry permit revoked and guns confiscated, simply because he has the same name as a suspected criminal. In states like California, we have seen former co-workers, roommates, and estranged family members use Red Flag laws to 'get even' with innocent gun owners.

Now, the GOP wants to make this a nationwide policy.

The Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019 has made it through the House Judiciary Committee. GOP Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) is rushing to pass his version of the bill as well. And the White House has indicated that President Trump will sign this confiscation bill into law if it reaches his desk.

The fight has now reached your doorstep!

Stop this gun confiscation surrender right now! Send your urgent FaxBlast to Congress and demand they kill the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019 and protect the right to keep and bear arms!

This is the Republicans' idea of a compromise. Instead of passing far-reaching gun bans, the GOP establishment is offering to give Democrats the power to launch confiscation raids against innocent people.

The establishment is now one step closer to making this nationwide policy. The next vote on this gun confiscation package is this week.

You need to fight back with everything you've got!

Sincerely,

Max McGuire
