It was only a matter of time. Mitch McConnell was just caught pressuring Donald Trump to nominate a "compromise" judge to be the next Supreme Court Justice.
McConnell is pressuring the White House to nominate Judge Raymond Kethledge, not because of his conservatism, but rather because he is willing to compromise on conservative issues.
McConnell "thinks Kethledge would be easy to confirm because Kethledge is not a consistent conservative," the source revealed.
The leak is coming from within the GOP; someone who is so fed up with the backstabbing that they just had to blow the whistle.
We warned you that the GOP was going to surrender the Supreme Court and squander an opportunity to cement a Conservative majority for the next decade+.
I regret to inform you that is exactly what is happening.
I've read a number of Kethledge's opinions. He certainly has a good head on his shoulders, but the leaker is right. He is not a consistent conservative. He would be better tha Anthony Kennedy, but Conservatives deserve more than that.
It is absolutely shameful that McConnell and the GOP are bowing down to the pressure from the left.
Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) are openly threatening to vote against any pro-life nominee. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), who is being forced to retire for his NeverTrump statements, is also threatening to vote against Trump's nominee unless the President changes his policy on Cuba and international trade.
It takes just one Republican no vote to doom the nomination. Instead of whipping these cowards up and pressuring the 10 Senate Democrats who are up for re-election this year in Trump states, McConnell is apparently throwing in the towel...
This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity to put this country back on the right track.
We have a chance to add a true pro-life, pro-gun, pro-border judge to the nation's highest court and, just as we suspected, the Establishment is too terrified to do it.
The Left will protest no matter who Trump nominates. Remember what happened after Neil Gorsuch was announced? The Left was waiting at the steps of the Supreme Court to protest, but they showed up with signs that left the name blank. "We Oppose ________." After Trump announced Gorsuch, they passed around markers and wrote his name onto the protest signs.
Leftists will try to block anyone Trump nominates. So why are McConnell and the GOP caving on this?
These GOP cowards in both the House and Senate must be stopped.
We only get one shot at this. There are no do-overs.
Don't let McConnell sabotage this and block a true Conservative from being added to the bench!
