This is an action alert: Democrats just introduced two new dangerous gun control bills designed to set the stage for nationwide confiscations!
We know that the ultimate goal of the gun control movement is civilian disarmament. Over the past couple of weeks, the Left has shown us how they plan to get there. A lot of the proposals are ones that we are used to. Dianne Feinstein is still pushing her assault weapon ban, which would ban every single semi-automatic rifle that is capable of being held in the hand. They are also pushing bills like HR.1895, which would expand the list of crimes that can justify permanent disarmament by adding non-violent misdemeanors to the list. And we know that they are working with Republicans on a new confiscation bill...
But that isn't good enough. If you manage to get around all of these new provisions, the Left wants to make sure it is still as hard as possible for you to arm yourself.
And that is why they just introduced two new radical gun control bills!
The first is the Handgun Purchaser Licensing Act (HR.3285 / S.1844). This bill, as the name implies, would set up a system where Americans would need to receive a permit from the government before being allowed to buy a handgun or pistol. States like New Jersey, California, and Maryland already have this law on the books. Those permits require additional background checks and a lengthy waiting period.
But the laws have evolved far beyond just a permitting scheme. Today, these states also have limits on how many guns Americans are allowed to buy. So not only are gun owners forced to jump through hoops to obtain permission to buy a handgun, but they are only allowed to purchase one handgun a month.
Why? Because when you give the government the power to regulate handgun purchases, they are going to try to limit them as much as possible. Already, we have seen leftists in these state legislatures try to reduce this number even more.
This is what the Handgun Purchaser Licensing Act would usher in, except it would be nationwide. Gun control advocates know they can never confiscate Americans' guns without a gun registry. World history shows that every single time a tyrannical government has confiscated their citizens' guns, they relied on a registry of who owns the guns. This is what happened in the USSR, Nazi Germany, the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Venezuela.
But they aren't stopping there. Congressional Democrats have also just introduced a companion bill -- S.1831 -- to ban homemade firearms by outlawing the instructions on how to build them. Now, I know what you are thinking: who makes homemade guns? Well, believe it or not, a lot of people do. And today's technology makes this easier than ever before. Today, with a hand drill, instructions off the internet, and a lot of patience, anyone can manufacture a handgun in their home. The genie is out of the bottle and there's no putting it back in.
So why are Democrats trying to ban this? Because they will never be able to achieve nationwide gun control if Americans are still allowed to build their own unregistered firearms. When Americans are no longer allowed to build their own guns, then they would have no choice but to go through the government's registration system.
This bill would do absolutely nothing to stop crime. But that's not what this is about. This is about controlling law-abiding gun owners and adding all of our names to a future confiscation database.
The Left cannot achieve their ultimate goal of civilian disarmament without these two bills passing. They need a registry of American gun owners (a precursor for future confiscations) and they need to outlaw homemade guns outside of their registration system.
They are pushing these two bills first because they already have Republican support!
Save the Republic! Fight back and help us KILL these radical gun control bills before it's too late!
The GOP is eager to "do something" on gun control. They are trying walk a thin line: appease gun control advocates without going too far and turning off their base of American gun owners. Republicans in both the House and Senate believe that this legislative package is the way for them to keep their power.
They can give the Left what they want -- a clear pathway to gun confiscations -- without losing support from Conservatives.
The only reason they are even daring to push this through is because they think YOU are okay with it.
You have a duty to prove them wrong! You have an obligation as an American to stop this. You must to tell these cowards in Washington DC that supporting either of these two gun control bills is political suicide.
That is our mission today. We are going to bombard Congressional offices -- Republicans and Democrats -- with a simple message: Anyone who signs onto these bills or helps them pass in any way will be removed from office.
But we can't do it without you. We need your help to kill these gun control bills before they gain any more traction.
This is a fight for the future of our country and we cannot do this without you!
