Republicans are now working with Nancy Pelosi to pass an amnesty bill to prevent Pres. Trump from deporting illegal alien criminals!
President Trump tried to play ball. He tried to offer an olive branch to the Democrats and the GOP, and they spat in his face.
Almost two weeks ago, the Trump administration was all set to start nationwide deportation raids. ICE agents were set to launch raids in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, and San Francisco. We know these cities because anti-Trump bureaucrats in Homeland Security leaked the list to the press...
Just hours before the first raids were set to kick off, Trump started receiving calls from members of Congress begging him to call off the raids. Not just Democrats, mind you. Republicans too... Even the GOP leadership was warning Trump that there would be "consequences" if he went through with it.
So, Trump offered the establishment a deal. He would delay the raids for two weeks but only if Congress fixed the horrible asylum loopholes that illegal aliens are taking advantage of.
Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell just spit in Trump's face. They sent Congress home for the long-weekend without even voting on the bill. They agreed to pass a 4.5 billion aid package to fund border operations, but refused to even touch the loopholes.
So, Trump just punched back. During his G-20 press conference, Donald Trump told reporters that the deportation raids were back on and would begin immediately after the 4th of July holiday.
The establishment thought Trump was bluffing. Now, Nancy Pelosi is meeting with these Republican traitors on legislation to pull the plug on deportation raids for good!
Our immigration laws have historically been written to control illegal aliens from two countries: Mexico and Cuba. Depending on how these illegal aliens got into the country, the law allows the Federal government to immediately deport them back.
But illegal aliens from other countries are allowed to apply for asylum. Traditionally, asylum has been used to help people fleeing war, famine, dictatorships, or natural disasters. Our Country's asylum laws have helped millions of people around the world escape horrible, horrible conditions. But the key here is that the migrants had to prove that they were actually victims. They had to prove that they were being persecuted or faced serious repercussions if they were deported back to their country. Anyone who filed a fraudulent asylum claim would end up being deported.
The problem is that the system was never designed to handle volume. There is no famine in Central America. No war or significant natural disasters. These countries have problems, don't get me wrong, but there is literally no legal justification for over 150,000 mostly-Central Americans to be claiming asylum at our border every month. They know they don't qualify for asylum... We know they don't qualify... but the law says they have to accept the applications anyway.
Human traffickers and Leftist organizations are coaching these illegal aliens and giving them scripts to recite to border patrol agents so they can apply for asylum. The system is so broken that illegal aliens are now trying to get caught by Border Patrol...
This volume has created a huge backlog in our immigration courts. It will take the courts years to handle the asylum cases and thousands more get filed every day. And since Democrats cut ICE's detention funding, almost all of these asylum frauds are being released into the United States, never to be seen again.
President Trump has authorized ICE to begin arresting these illegal alien criminals; People who gamed the system to invade this country, deliberately skipped their deportation hearings, and are now fugitives from justice.
But now Democrats and the GOP want to give them amnesty instead!
This is nothing but an amnesty push. These illegal aliens broke the law and were ordered by a Federal judge to be removed from the country. What Democrats and their Republican allies are trying to do is give out amnesty to millions of illegal aliens already eligible for deportation.
That is why Pelosi's amnesty bill (H.R. 6) specifically states that illegal alien convicted criminals would be eligible for legal residency and a pathway to citizenship.
We are now in a race against the clock. President Trump has given ICE the green light to launch their deportation raids and these cowards in Congress are rushing to stop them by legalizing the illegal aliens being targeted.
You CANNOT let this happen!
