Breaking News: Trump just authorized billions in additional funding for border wall construction and the GOP is furious!
Last year, when Democrats refused to approve funding to secure the border, Trump took action himself. He declared the unsecured border to be a "national emergency" and used his legal and constitutional authority to reprogram Pentagon funds and assign them to border construction. Trump reprogrammed enough funding to build between 450 and 500 miles of new border wall.
Not only did Trump secure the funding, but an appeals court ruled earlier this month that Trump is allowed to continue onward with wall construction.
As you know, Democrats finally transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate yesterday. All eyes were on the swearing-in ceremony in the Senate.
But while the media was laser-focused on the impeachment trial, Pres. Trump did something truly amazing. He authorized an additional 270 miles of border wall construction!
At the President's instruction, the Department of Homeland Security delivered a requisition letter to the Pentagon, "requesting" billions in additional funds to move forward with 270 more miles of border wall.
The letter documents how the unsecured areas of the border pose a national security risk because they serve as a drug and human smuggling corridor. The Pentagon is now going through the official process of approving the wall funding.
With the stroke of a pen, President Trump just increased 2020 border wall construction by more than 50%!
And more border wall orders are on the way. The White House is now talking about requisitioning a whopping 7.2 BILLION in additional border wall funding this year. That would almost double border wall construction efforts and approach the 1,000 mile mark...
Democrats are furious. Just as they thought they were winning against Trump, he turned around and approved billions in additional funding for the border wall. And they have help...
Republicans have been working very publicly to stop the border wall. Most recently, two dozen GOP Congressmen and Senators voted with the Left to try to cancel Trump's executive order and shut down all wall construction. They fell just a couple votes shy...
The GOP ordered Trump to stand down and stop trying to secure the border. Trump responded by approving even more wall funding!

The GOP has been promising to secure the border for years. You would think they would be happy to finally have a President willing to do whatever is necessary to get the wall built. Well, they aren't happy...
Republicans like Mitt Romney and Susan Collins are scheming with Democrats to block Trump's latest funding order and shut down any additional border wall construction. They would rather send the construction crews home and leave the wall unfinished than allow Trump to actually secure the border...
It all comes down to this. President Trump is doing everything he can to secure the border. Even while Democrats are trying to remove him from office, he is still fighting to keep the promises that he made to you.
