For eight years, the Obama administration teamed up with the United Nations to not only expand the organization's power over Americans, but to weaponize it for Obama's purposes.
Case in point is the United Nation's Human Rights Council. The UNHRC doesn't focus on human rights. For goodness' sake, the council currently includes Saudi Arabia, one of the worst human rights abusers on earth. It also includes Cuba, a country known for jailing all dissidents, and Venezuela, a country that is literally starving its people.
The UNHRC isn't interested in actually going after human rights abusers. Their sole goal is to target the United States and Israel.
Just last week, the UN Human Rights Council ordered the Trump administration to "stop separating immigrant children from their families" at the southern border. The United Nations declared the Trump policy of enforcing our immigration laws is "illegal" and a violation of illegal aliens' human rights. They even dispatched observers to monitor immigration enforcement at the border.
Ambassador Nikki Haley is punching back. "Once again, the United Nations shows its hypocrisy by calling out the United States while it ignores the reprehensible human rights records of several members of its own Human Rights Council," she blasted.
Trump is enforcing our immigration laws against every illegal alien who gets caught. Showing up with a child is no longer a get out of jail card.
The UN is ordering the United States to stop enforcing our immigration laws and return to Obama's catch-and-release policy against illegal alien families. This was the final straw for Trump. He has officially ordered the United States to withdraw from the UN's politicized Human Rights Council.
But now, Establishment Republicans are working with Democrats to keep your taxdollars flowing to this corrupt UN organization!
Whenever President Trump takes a hatchet to the UN's budget, RINOs in Congress scramble to pull the rug out from under him.
When Trump withdrew from the UN Climate Treaty, Republican Senators Lamar Alexander, Susan Collins, and Lindsey Graham teamed up with Democrats to restore the funding to this radical UN agency.
When Trump cut funding to the UN's Palestine agency, Democrats demanded that the funding be restored. Right now, the draft spending bills in Congress would actually restore Obama's promised funding to the Palestinians if they passed right now. Obama was literally funding Palestinian children's books that taught students 'Death to America.'
Trump announced that he was cutting funding from countries that voted to condemn the United States for recognizing Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel. The Senate Appropriation Committee restored all of that funding in the most recent omnibus bill.
And now, as we are on the brink of Trump withdrawing from the UN's Human Rights Council, Establishment RINOs are once again trying to surrender America back to the United Nations. That would mean re-opening the border and dragging us back into the Obama era.
No.
When adults commit crimes, we don't send their children to jail with them. Every day, Americans are charged and convicted of crimes and they don't get leniency if they're parents. They don't get let off the hook if they have a baby. When parents commit crimes, their children have to go live with friends or relatives. This happens when Americans commit crimes and it happens when illegal aliens commit crimes.
Illegal immigration is a crime.
The Obama administration settled on a policy of "catch and release" when family units were detained at the border. If a parent showed up to a border patrol unit with a child in-tow, they were immediately released into American society with a "notice to appear" for a scheduled deportation hearing.
Not surprisingly, illegal aliens practically never show up to these hearings. Less than 3% of all catch-and-release illegals showed up to their hearing. It didn't take long for drug smugglers and criminal border hoppers to realize this, so all of a sudden, everyone started showing up with their "children." So, Trump is cracking down.
But now the United Nations is ordering the Trump administration to stand down and trying to use the Human Rights Council and international human rights law to stop us.
American work hard to provide for their families. We donate to community charities, churches, and, yes, pay taxes to the Federal government. Those funds are supposed to help us Americans at home.
But under the Obama administration, more and more of those funds were funneled overseas to countries and international organizations that literally stand against the United States. The United Nations uses YOUR taxdollars to try to undermine American sovereignty. We give billions to countries around the world and they turn around and attack us at every turn.
This must end.
The GOP was forced to cancel the August recess this year. Trump told them he would not sign another omnibus bill, so the only way to fund the government is to pass a dozen spending bills.
Right now, Congress is getting to work on crafting the country's foreign aid budgets. That includes United Nations funding.
President Trump is livid. The UN ordering him to re-open the border was the last straw. The administration is in the process of withdrawing from the UNHRC right now.
This is truly a once in a lifetime chance to defund the United Nations and an opportunity we simply cannot afford to waste!
