Three more prominent Congressmen just the effort to shut down the Mueller investigation once and for all.
Robert Mueller's decision to indict former-Trump Campaign Chairman Paul Manafort on charges completely unrelated to the Russia investigation raised a lot of eyebrows. He was supposed to investigate "Russian interference" in the 2016 election and instead, went after Manafort for crimes he committed almost a decade ago.
Now, word has leaked out that Mueller is going to do the same against Trump advisor Michael Flynn, charging him for not properly registering as a lobbyist when he was hired by the Turkish government. Again, nothing to do with Russia.
This isn't about getting to the truth. This is a witch hunt designed to take the Trump administration down by any means necessary and Conservatives in Congress are now fighting back.
Congressmen Matt Gaetz (FL), Andy Biggs (AZ), and Louie Gohmert (TX) are now on board. Other Conservatives in Congress are quietly considering backing the measure "Robert Mueller is compromised," they all agree. They are joining Rep. Ron DeSantis and backing a measure to pull the Mueller investigation's funding entirely and they need your help convincing the rest of Congress!
The rules in Congress make it so that Senate Democrats have to sign off on any bill before it reaches Trump's desk. However, there is an exception for budget-related bills. Legislation dealing with revenue and spending can be passed through a process known as "reconciliation." Then, Democrats become powerless to filibuster or block a bill from reaching Trump's desk. These specifics are really boring, but they are important to understanding why DeSantis' clause is written this way.
If he can attach his amendment to a must-pass spending bill, he can get it to Trump's desk for signature. Currently, Congress is working on a number of different bills that will use the reconciliation process to pass. The DeSantis amendment just needs to be attached to one of them. The amendment is actually very simple.
"None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to fund activities pursuant to Department of Justice order 3915-2017." That is the DOJ order that started the Mueller probe.
One sentence is all it takes to shut this witch hunt down. Then, Mueller wouldn't even be able to use taxpayer funds to buy office supplies. He would be cut off entirely.
Originally, Ron DeSantis was on his own. But as more news breaks involving the many Clinton crimes that Robert Mueller covered up -- including the Uranium One scandal --when he was in charge of the FBI, more Conservatives are joining the fight!
This cover up "took place when Mr. Mueller was the Director of the FBI," Rep. Gaetz said in a statement, "as such, his impartiality is hopelessly compromised."
Last week, Ron DeSantis, stood alone. Thanks to your advocacy, the number of Conservatives supporting this measure has just grown.
The amendment is just one sentence but it would put a stop to all of this. That's all it takes to finish this!
Appointing Mueller was never about investigating Russia. It was about defeating President Trump.The Establishment of both parties were shocked that Trump was able to win. As we learned this past week, even the two Bush Presidents refused to vote for Trump. They wanted Clinton to win.
They couldn't defeat Trump in the ballot box, so they hatched a plan to defeat him in the jury box. Yet, as they're coming up empty searching for Trump's "crimes," they are now charging his aides and advisors with whatever crimes they can think of.
That is why Manafort is facing tax evasion charges and Michael Flynn will likely be indicted for lobbying on behalf of the Turkish government.
Rep. Ron Desantis' amendment would put a stop to this. It is structured in a way to make sure that Democrats cannot block it. The Founders deliberately gave Congress the power of the purse to stop witch hunts like this. And they gave YOU the responsibility of demanding it from Congress!
