We now know how the Leftists plan to try to destroy President Trump.
Starting today, Congress will begin voting on the impeachment trial rules package. This resolution will govern how the trial is run, and determine whether anti-Trumpers will get to launch into yet another witch hunt.
Mitch McConnell's plan is to pass the same rules that were in place during Bill Clinton's impeachment (which were unanimously agreed to back then). The House Democrats would get a chance to make their "case," Trump's legal team would get a rebuttal, and then there would be a vote.
The vote would have four options: dismissal, acquittal, conviction, or a vote to subpoena documents and witnesses to extend the trial.
Schumer wants the fourth option. He has introduced an amendment that would subpoena thousands of pages of documents and drag pretty much every Trump administration official in to testify, potentially even the President himself. They are hoping to catch one of these aides in a lie and damage the President as much as possible going into the 2020 election.

One of the first GOPers to flip and turn against the President was Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). She was one of the first to announce that she supported Chuck Schumer's plan to hijack the trial process and subpoena additional documents and witnesses.
Now, however, she is flipping back. Collins said that she has changed her mind. Instead of simply voting against the President, she is now saying that she wants to hear the opening statements and questions before deciding how to vote.
She knows that her political career is over if she votes with Democrats against the President, so she is trying to walk her past comments back...

With 12 GOPers now leaning towards voting with the Dems, they only need a few more to flip in order to remove the President of the United States from office. That is their ultimate goal.

There are no do-overs today. When the Senate votes on a rules package, that will govern the entire impeachment trial.
If the Democrats succeed and are able to subpoena tens of thousands of documents and force the administration's officials to testify, they will be able to stretch this trial on for months. And if they are able to make the impeachment vote a secret ballot, which is what they have wanted all along, they could actually succeed in removing Trump from office.
The first votes are TODAY.
