These GOP traitors are hoping that you are too preoccupied with the Christmas holiday to notice that they are stabbing you in the back on the border wall!
Truly shameful. With the Senate set to formally reconvene after Christmas, the Republican leadership isn't waiting until then to surrender on the border wall.
Last week, they ordered Trump to cave and give up his border wall designs in favor of more steel-slat fences.
Now, the GOP is trying to strike a deal for border security funding that won't include additional funding for the wall.
Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) made appearances on the Sunday shows yesterday and announced that Democrats would agree to fund border security as long a none of the funding goes towards border wall construction.
What is even more disgusting is that Republican leadership is considering the offer!
Senator Bob Corker (R-Tennessee) is one of the Never-Trump Republicans who was forced to retire in shame after his anti-Trump rhetoric tanked his poll numbers. Corker sits on the influential Budget Committee, so any final funding bill that reaches the floor will have to go through him. Yesterday, Corker called the border wall fight a 'made-up fight' designed to make it 'look like the President is fighting.'
Senator Lama Alexander (R-Tennessee) also sits on the Appropriations Committee. He declared over the weekend that the shutdown must be "short-lived" and that there is no excuse to shut the government down over border wall funding.
When Mitch McConnell brought the House bill -- which fully funded the border wall -- to the floor for a procedural vote, Senator Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) voted 'No.' Flake is so hopelessly liberal, he voted against even debating additional border wall funding.
With these defections in the Senate, we're starting to see Paul Ryan cave as well. With just a little over a week left in his Speakership, Ryan is now talking about just giving up on the Border Wall and letting Trump negotiate with Nancy Pelosi once the Democrats take over. We have just days left in control of the House and the GOP wants to just walk away.
The Republicans know you are going to be preoccupied with the Christmas holiday. They are hoping that you will be too busy celebrating with family and friends to notice their despicable betrayal.

This week, President Trump announced an end to ground military operations in Syria. Considering that Congress never declared war against Syria, this is a win for the Constitution in my book. Next year, the Pentagon was planning on spending more than 15 billion on the war in Syria. Congress found the time to fully fund an unconstitutional ground war, but can't figure out a way to secure our border...
On Friday, Congress sent the President legislation to dedicate 1.2 billion to bolster quantum computing -- basically, research into really powerful computers in this country.
The Appropriations Committees are currently working on bills to increase foreign aid to Mexico and Central America to the tune of 10.6 billion, with almost 5 billion going exclusively to Mexico (the country that was caught providing chartered buses and police escorts to the illegal alien caravans).
We spend billions every year helping other countries secure their borders. And yet, both the GOP and Democrats are refusing to fund border wall construction on our southern border.
There's no stomach for a government shutdown in the Republican leadership. They are scrambling to strike a deal with Democrats to re-open the Federal government without approving the border wall.
You MUST stop them before it's too late!
