We have been fighting like hell to stop the GOP from surrendering on the 2nd Amendment. Every day, more and more Congressmen and Senators come out to oppose the Left's semi-automatic gun ban and universal background check bill.
But a trend is emerging. While Republicans are now quick to dismiss the Left's gun control bills, they are advancing their own.
That bill is called the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act, written by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). The premise is simple. If the government does not have enough evidence to prove you are mentally ill or a criminal, they would still be allowed to disarm you anyway. If a neighbor, friend, family member, or coworker turns a gun owner into police, claiming that he or she is dangerous, that would be enough for a confiscation order.
This bill would give government the power to disarm innocent people. People who have never even been charged with a crime would suddenly lose their God-given right to self-defense.
And the GOP is wholeheartedly endorsing this radical plan!
We are hearing more and more reports from our Congressional sources that the GOP is planning to call the Senate back to Washington DC to hold an emergency session on gun control. Their plan is to push this bill through before Labor Day. Members of the Republican leadership are meeting behind closed doors to hash out the details of their gun confiscation bill.
That way, when the emergency session is called, they will be able to immediately push the bill through and send it to President Trump's desk.
They are doing this on purpose. They want to keep this radical confiscation bill behind closed doors for as long as possible so that YOU can't stop it. They don't want you to see the negotiations over amendments because they don't want you to be able to block their surrender plans.
We are already seeing Democrats say that this isn't good enough. Chuck Schumer is saying that the GOP's version of the red flag bill isn't radical enough. Democrats want the government to be able to permanently disarm innocent people. That is why the GOP doesn't want you to see these negotiations until it is too late to stop it from passing...
Republicans will not publicly release their bill until they have the votes to pass it. But if you wait until then to fight back, it will be to late...
Here is what we know so far. The bill would use federal funds to help the government disarm innocent Americans without having to first prove that they did something wrong. No charges... no convictions... just allegations. Innocent people would lose their gun rights.
Some states have already passed their own Red Flag laws and we are starting to see them get abused. Spiteful neighbors, vengeful coworkers, and estranged family members are all using these confiscation programs to go after innocent gun owners. And now the GOP is talking about making this a nationwide program...
That alone -- before any Democrats amendments have even been added -- is the most radical assault on our Second Amendment rights that we have ever seen!
The 2nd Amendment doesn't give you the right to keep and bear arms. That right comes from God alone. The 2nd Amendment exists to stop government from violating your pre-existing inalienable rights.
Over the years, Congress has given government the right to disarm dangerous criminals and mentally defective people. But the burden of proof has always rested with prosecutors. Government has had to prove that someone deserves to lose their gun rights before anyones firearms could be confiscated.
But this bill would change that. It would give government the power to disarm innocent people without even having to prove they broke the law...
This is what Democrats have always wanted. Being a law-abiding citizen wouldn't be enough anymore. Gun owners would have to convince a court that they deserve to own firearms.
This bill would turn your gun rights into a privilege that can be revoked by the government at any time. And the GOP is trying to rush this bill through!
