When Democrats voted to impeach President Trump, the GOP was unified. Not a single House Republican voted for the impeachment articles and in the Senate, the GOP vowed to quickly dismiss the bogus charges against the president.
Nancy Pelosi deliberately delayed transmitting the articles to the Senate to give Democrats more time to flip Republicans. After finally delivering the articles last week, the Senate is set to begin the trial on Tuesday.
But Pelosi's plan worked. Democrats were able to put enough pressure on Republicans to force them to hold a full trial, instead of simply dismissing the articles.
Enough Republicans have flipped to (1) block a dismissal vote and (2) give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats enough votes to set the trial rules.
Now, Chuck Schumer is going for it all. He says that Democrats have now flipped 11 or 12 Republicans against the President. That is more than halfway toward the number necessary to remove Trump from office!
That's right. Democrats have now secured almost a dozen GOP votes on their amendment to call anti-Trump witnesses to the trial.
The Left's next plan is to make the impeachment votes confidential. If they can change the rules to hold the votes by secret ballot, then they believe they can convince the last 8 Republicans to remove President Trump from office!
This is it. Every fight against the Democrats, Establishment Republicans, the media, and the deep state all comes down to this moment.
The Democrats think they finally have the votes to remove Trump from office. And the GOP establishment wants nothing more than another opportunity to change the 2016 election results...
And the fight continues in the House as well. Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff are advancing additional impeachment articles against the President. Even if the Senate acquits, the Dems plan to just overload the Senate with as many impeachment resolutions as possible.
These traitors swore an oath to represent you. But they only seem to care about removing Trump from office. Since Democrats took over the House, they have passed more subpoenas against the President than bills into law...
