Senator Jeff Flake is no conservative. He is retiring from the Senate because he had absolutely no prospect of winning re-election in Arizona. He is just to big of a NeverTrumper.
Over the last year, however, Flake has actually become even worse. Instead of just speaking out against the President he hates so much, he has actively tried to sabotage the Conservative agenda.
You see, Flake is the worst type of RINO. He claims to be guided by principle, but the fact of the matter is that he is guided by nothing but Trump hatred.
Earlier this summer, Jeff Flake promised to block President Trump's judicial nominees until Congress voted on legislation to block Trump's tariffs and reinstate Obama's Cuba policy. Flake doesn't actually care about these issues. He only cares about hurting President Trump. Donald Trump ruined Flake's political career and forced him to retire in shame. Now, he is trying to return the favor.
Over the summer, there was some debate over whether Flake would actually go through with it. Well, there is no more debate.
Remember when Mitch McConnell cancelled Congress' summer vacation? McConnell did it to force Congress to start passing the President's agenda and confirming his nominees.
Instead of serving his constituents on the Judiciary Committee and moving the nominations forward, Flake spent most of the summer vacationing in Africa. That's right, he traveled to Africa to avoid having to vote on the nominees. The result was that multiple judicial nominees were blocked in the Judiciary Committee. Democrats refused to approve the nominees and without Flake, Republicans were one vote short of the votes needed.
Now. Flake is back from his trip to Africa and Democrats are pouncing. If they can get him to vote against Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, they can block the nomination from reaching the Senate floor for a full vote!
Chuck Schumer and the Democrats just demanded that Kavanaugh's confirmation be delayed until after the midterms.
Why? They claim that Trump is a criminal.
Why? Because his former campaign manager was convicted of tax fraud from the mid-2000s and his former lawyer didn't pay taxes on his taxi medallion.
Yes, they are that delusional.
Up to this point, the Left's plan has been to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation as long as possible. That is why they have been filing lawsuits to seize Kavanaugh's records. They want to bog down the confirmation process with millions of pages of documents. Just this week, Democrats won a major court fight to force tens of thousands more documents to be released.
But now, they are going for it all. They are trying to stop Kavanaugh from ever being added to the bench. And if they can convince just one Republican to flip, they will win.
All eyes are on Jeff Flake. He promised to block Trump's nominees, flew to Africa to avoid having to cast votes on Trump's nominations, and has now gone completely silent on whether he will support Kavanaugh. The Washington Post asked Flake about his decision on the Supreme Court nomination and he went off on a tangent about how President Trump is a racist.
Democrats have never been this confident. They are winning court fights to force more documents into the record to stall the confirmation and they are starting to flip the NeverTrump Senators.
And the GOP leadership is just letting it all happen...
This week, an Appeals Court overturned an Alabama abortion law. In 2016, Alabama passed a law banning second-trimester dismemberment abortions. This is where unborn babies are ripped apart inside the womb, limb from limb. These vulnerable babies have heartbeats and are able to fully feel pain. The Appeals Court ruled the ban was unconstitutional.
This case will move to the Supreme Court. Without Kavanaugh on the bench, it is impossible to protect the unborn.
There was also just a case in Hawaii that challenged the state's ban on open carry. Remarkably, a three-judge panel on the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Americans do have a constitutional right to carry guns in public. This case will no-doubt be overturned by the full 9th Circuit. Then, it will move to the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh supports the right to bear arms. But if he is not on the bench, the right to carry could be stripped from all Americans.
Across the country, liberal states are suing the Trump administration to stop the President from enforcing our immigration laws. Liberal judges are trying to reimplement all of Obama's amnesty programs. This case will reach the Supreme Court and if Kavanaugh is not on the bench, the Liberal Justices will be able to leave these idiotic lower court rulings in place.
Go down the list. Every single Conservative issue has a case that is either on the Supreme Court's docket or just one step away.
For weeks, Democrats have wanted to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation even for just a couple of days or weeks. They are now confident that they will be able to block him permanently and they have found the Republican ally to help them do it!
Republicans Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski -- two "moderates" who are threatening to vote against Kavanaugh -- met privately with the Kavanaugh this week and even though he answered all of their questions, they are STILL are not committing to vote for him. Sen. Jeff Flake has gone from threatening to block Trump's court nominees to actually fleeing the country to deny the President.
Democrats are filing lawsuits to seize Kavanaugh's records, hoping to find something they can turn into a scandal or enough records to delay the confirmation process. And now Schumer is demanding Kavanaugh's confirmation be halted indefinitely because he thinks Trump is a traitor.
Now is not the time to sit on your hands. Now is not the time to sit back and hope.
Now is the time to fight back with everything you've got!
