Republicans and Democrats are holding a vote this week to undo all of Trump's foreign aid cuts and restore them to Obama funding levels!
President Trump is guided by a singular foreign policy goal: putting America first. Every United States policy is debated over whether it will truly benefit the United States and its citizens.
No matter what you think of Trump, he stays true to this promise. He has ordered the largest cut to US foreign aid ever in our history. He has literally cut billions and billions in foreign aid funding.
A lot of that was supposed to go to our enemies. Countries like Pakistan or Palestine were supposed to get hundreds of millions in aid. Trump cut it and warned that any other country that stands against the United States would lose its aid funding as well.
But Trump has also cut aid to supposed 'allies.' Countries like Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador have long claimed to be a US ally. They have taken in billions in foreign aid over the last decade. But instead of helping the United States deal with the crisis at the southern border, these countries are literally aiding and abetting the caravans invading our country. Pres. Trump issued them an ultimatum: if they want American aid, then they must stop the illegal alien caravans.
Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador all tried to call Trump's bluff. They didn't think that Trump would actually go through with it. But last month, President Trump ordered to the State Department to cut off all aid to these Central American countries.
Mexico, to its credit, took immediate steps to safeguard their foreign aid. They began raiding the caravans and deporting the illegal migrants before they could reach the US border. Trump's plan worked.
The Trump administration just formally submitted their budget to Congress and the plan would finalize all of these budget cuts. It calls for a 23 percent cut in US foreign aid. That would make all of Trump's discretionary cuts permanent.
For the first time, we truly have a President willing to fight to put America first. But both parties in Congress - Republicans and Democrats - just announced that they are joining forces to block Trump's cuts!
We are so close to rolling back the Obama administration's foreign aid policy. But every time Trump makes progress, Congress drags him back.
There is a lot to like about Lindsey Graham (R-SC) lately. As the new Senate Judiciary Chairman, he is taking the fight to the Deep State officials who launched the Russian investigation. He defended Brett Kavanaugh and Trump's other nominees from the Left's aggression.
But last week, Graham proved that he is still an establishment RINO at heart. As an influential member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Graham has tremendous power. This committee holds the "power of the purse." Since the GOP only holds a one-vote majority on the committee, it only takes one Republican to flip and vote with Democrats in order to push through radical liberal funding amendments.
We saw this last year when the committee voted on funding for the United Nations' Green Climate Fund. Instead of upholding Trump's decision to defund the UN's climate treaty -- which Obama had no right to sign onto -- the committee narrowly voted to restore the funding. Lindsey Graham abstained from the vote and Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) joined the Democrats to protect the Obama-era funding. That was more than enough to push it through.
Graham is now promising that Trumps foreign aid cuts will not become law.
"We're not going to approve this budget reduction," Graham announced this past week. "It's insane. It makes no sense."
He is teaming up with Patrick Leahy (D-VT) (shown above) and promising to not only kill the Trump cuts, but to restore US foreign aid to its Obama-era levels. All of the cuts that Trump has already made would be restored again.
Trump cut this foreign aid because we caught countries literally supporting our enemies and helping illegal alien invaders reach our borders. Trump punished these countries for what they were doing. The GOP and Democrats in Congress want to reward them instead!
This establishment plan would undo all of Pres. Trump's America First foreign aid cuts and bring us back to Obama funding levels. President Trump ran and won on a promise to put America First. Now both parties in Congress are colluding to drag us backwards!
You CANNOT let this happen!
This betrayal plan would not only restore funding to our enemies and the countries that are helping illegal aliens, but it would also completely restore funding to the United Nations.
It is the ultimate surrender. They are holding their vote on this surrender plan this week.
You must fight back before it's too late!
