While the world was focusing on the Kavanaugh fight, Congress restored funding to UN agencies that Pres. Trump cut!
Edit: This is breaking news: UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has resigned her position. She was leading the charge to defund the United Nations. With her resignation, an establishment crony will now get to decide how the US funds the United Nations!
Last week, the United Nations ordered the Trump administration to lift sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. UN judges ruled that the United States' actions violated an obscure treaty that was signed with Iran before the country was taken over by radical clerics.
Trump responded as only he ever could: He ripped up the treaty. The United Nations' highest court, however, is ordering the United States to comply with the ruling anyway. After all of this, the United Nations is still trying to undermine our sovereignty... And they're doing it all with your taxdol.lars!
The top story last week was Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation fight, and rightly so. But during that battle, Congress also sent a new spending package to President Trump's desk.
The RINOs and Dems got their way. The spending package restored funding to most of the UN programs and agencies that President Trump had cut.
The Trump administration spent most of 2018 cutting the United Nations' funding. Trump cut hundreds of millions from the UN's Palestinian "refugee" agency, the anti-American Human Rights Council, forced the UN to find another way to pay for its peacekeeping operations, and pulled the plug on a host of UN "treaties" that Obama had unconstitutionally signed.
For the first time, we had a President who was truly willing to put America first.
I warned you that the GOPers were going to try to pull the rug out from under the President on this. I regret to inform you that I was right...
Instead of passing a new spending bill, Congress voted on something called a "continuing resolution." Essentially, Congress extended the spending package that was approved last year and applied it to next year.
It doesn't just restore funding to smaller programs like the UN's Green Climate Fund (which Trump withdrew from), but it also blocks major cuts that were on the way.
The Trump administration was actually finalizing a billion in cuts to the UN's peacekeeping and aid programs. It would have been the biggest cut in history and a huge step towards putting America first.
However, with this one bill, Congress just told him 'don't you dare.' Congress ordered the President to make the 'donations' that Obama had promised on-schedule.
We are already seeing the funding flowing back into the UN's accounts. Trump withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council to protest its anti-American bias. Now, Congress is ordering the State Department to make good on the funding promises anyway. The UN's radical Arms Trade Treaty and Climate Treaty -- which the Obama administration unconstitutionally signed -- are now going to get their funding from US taxpayers.
Even the President's ban on funding for foreign abortion providers -- one of his first executive orders after taking office -- is under new scrutiny. Now that Congress has restored the funding, the Obama holdovers left in the State Department have the power they need to undo Trump's cuts.
But because of how Congress passed this legislation, they technically have to vote on it again. The continuing resolution is set to run out in just a few weeks, at which time Congress will need to either reauthorize it or pass a new spending package.
The Trump administration isn't giving up. They are still working on ways to pull all of the funding back. But they need your help to finish this!
Years from now, your grandchildren or great-grandchildren will ask what you did to help put America first again.
They will learn about this time in American history and ask what their family members -- you -- did to fight back against the creeping anti-American globalists.
I don't know about you, but I want the answer to be "everything he possibly could."
This is our one chance in history to put the country back on the right path. After eight years of Obama giving everything away to the United Nations, we finally have a President who is willing to stand up and say, 'No.'
The only reason this spending package passed was because Paul Ryan teamed up with the Democrats. There were not enough Republican votes to pass it alone.
But Congress must pass the spending bill again to make the UN funding permanent. We still have a way to beat this!
The GOP thinks they have nothing to lose by caving to the Left and re-funding all of the international aid programs that Trump cut. It is up to you to prove them all wrong!
The United Nations was literally using our taxdol lars to try to undermine our sovereignty. It was the ultimate slap in the face.
Trump is putting an end to that, but he can't do it alone. He needs your help to halt Congress in its tracks.
