This is truly remarkable, almost to the point where I am at a loss for words.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) released a bombshell report this week that the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) notified the FBI in 2016 that thirty thousand of Hillary Clinton's emails had been hacked by a Chinese company. That report has since been verified by multiple news outlets.
The ICIG gave the warning to disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok, who refused to at on it. Instead, he helped James Comey sweep the hacking under the rug and publicly exonerate Hillary Clinton.
We know from Congressional testimony and released documents that Strzok was responsible for making the edits to James Comey's exoneration statement. One of those edits had to do with whether Hillary's classified documents were hacked by a foreign country.
The original statement that Comey was going to read to the American people said that it was "reasonably likely" that the classified documents on Hillary's private server were hacked by a foreign power. This was because the ICIG reported that she was, in fact, hacked. But without access to the actual files that the Clinton team destroyed, the FBI could only say it was "reasonably likely." Strzok went in at the last minute and changed the wording to say a hacking was simply "possible."
He knew for a FACT that Hillary Clinton's illegal and unsecure email server allowed a foreign power to steal America's secret and top secret classified information. But Strzok was so committed to helping Hillary weather this storm, he decided to sweep it all under the rug.
President Trump is firing back. He is now demanding that the FBI and DOJ restart the Clinton investigation or else he will have no choice but to personally intervene!
We now know that Hillary Clinton's thirty thousand emails were compromised. A Chinese company installed a program onto her server that copied every email she sent and received while it was active. It is not a coincidence that the number of emails the Chinese hacked is the same number she refused to hand over to Federal investigators. The Clinton Campaign knew that if they let the FBI access those records, they would find evidence of the hacking...
The Obama-era FBI was notified about all of this, but chose to do nothing.
Federal Law is very clear on this. The specific law that Hillary Clinton violated is the Espionage Act, specifically 18 USC § 793 (f).
It is a crime for anyone entrusted with classified information to "through gross negligence permit the same to be removed from its proper place of custody" and "having knowledge that the [classified information] has been removed from its proper place of custody... fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer."
There are two aspects to the crime. (1) gross negligence of allowing classified information to be stored in an unsafe manner and (2) failing to notify the authorities the minute that the loss is discovered.
The Chinese were only able to hack into Clinton's server because she removed the classified intelligence from its "proper place of custody." Instead of keeping her classified emails in a secure government facility, she stored them in an unlocked room in her home and kept copies on a non-secure server in a bathroom closet. When investigators caught wind of this scheme and subpoenaed the emails, Hillary's campaign instructed their IT contractor to use BleachBit to wipe the hard drives clean.
They destroyed thirty thousand emails, the same number allegedly captured by Chinese spies.
The FBI was hopelessly biased. Peter Strzok was in charge of all of the Hillary Clinton investigations. Not only did Strzok ignore the Inspector General's report that Hillary's server had been hacked by the Chinese, but he granted immunity to everyone involved in destroying the evidence. The Inspector General's investigation revealed that not only was Strzok biased for Hillary and against Trump, but that he was willing to acted on this bias as well.
And when duplicates turned up on Anthony Weiner's laptop, not only did Strzok hide this information for as long as possible, but he only allowed a hand-picked batch of emails to be examined for classified information. When James Comey testified before Congress that all 694,000 of the discovered emails had been examined and that investigators worked "night after night" to do it, he was lying. Strzok only allowed 3,000 emails that he personally hand picked to be examined by the FBI's forensic investigators and they finished the job in a single day.
After an exhaustive search, we now know that there were classified emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop. In the past year, the State Department has admitted that dozens of Clinton's classified files that were on Weiner's laptop.
The whole thing was an absolute sham from the start and President Trump is demanding that ALL investigations be reopened.
President Trump is fed up.
"Hillary Clinton's emails, many of which are classified information, got hacked by China. Next move better be by the FBI and DOJ," Trump released in a tweet.
He followed that up with a verbal threat at a rally yesterday in Indiana. "You can have the biggest story about Hillary Clinton, I mean, look at what she's getting away with. But let's see if she gets away with it."
As the crowd began booing Clinton, Trump continued.
"All I can say is... our Justice Department and our FBI have to start doing their job right... and doing it now."
"People are angry. What's happening is a disgrace. And at some point -- I wanted to stay out. But at some point, if it doesn't straighten out properly... I will get involved and I'll get in there, if I have to."
President Trump is ordering the FBI to reopen its investigation. So far, sleepy Jeff Sessions has refused to do anything.
We wouldn't be in this situation if Congress actually did its job.
This week, the House GOP began circulating a list of all of the things that the Democrats are promising to investigate if they win back the House of Representatives. Paul Ryan is trying to use this to scare Republicans into voting this November.
But he was the one who ordered Gowdy and the others to shut down their Hillary email investigation. Ryan was the one who issued the stand down order. We are in this situation because Establishment Republicans decided to let Hillary get away with it.
It is absolutely shameful.
With the bombshell reports out this week, there is no longer any doubt that the Hillary Clinton investigation was grossly mishandled.
The Obama FBI and DOJ never intended to prosecute Clinton and they put Peter Strzok in charge to make sure she was let off the hook.
But we have learned that Trump didn't just issue an order to the DOJ. He is also calling on Congressional Republicans to reopen their investigation and bring this Obama-era cover up crashing down.
Conservative members of Congress are answering the President's call, but they need your help pressuring the Leadership to act.
The statute of limitations is coming up. If Congress doesn't act right now, she will be let off the hook for good!
