This is absolutely infuriating.
Mitch McConnell just announced that the Senate will be considering all of the Left's radical gun control bills. President Trump said this morning that he has spoken to McConnell, and the Senator said that he is ready to start debating these new gun control bills.
Well, we now know what bills McConnell is talking about... Here is a direct quote from Mitch McConnell when he was asked about whether he would support a new Assault Weapons Ban:
"We had that ban for about a 10-year period. There's a good deal of dispute about whether it actually had an impact or not. It's certainly one of the front and center issues. I think... probably background checks and red flags will probably lead the discussion. But a lot of other things will come up as well."
The Left's entire gun control package -- universal gun registry, confiscations, gun bans -- will be "front and center" in the GOP-controlled Senate...
Democrats in the House are racing forward too. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) just let slip that the Judiciary Committee is planning call an emergency session to push through their radical gun control package through before Labor Day.
This is happening. Republicans are caving and Democrats are using this as an opportunity to push through the gun control bills that they've wanted for years: new gun confiscations, bans on commonly-owned semi-automatic weapons, and a universal registry of gun owners.
It is up to you to force Congress to stand down!
They're not just going to press one of these bills. They are going for ALL of them.
The "background check" bill is designed to give the government the power to create a registry of all gun owners in America. The Left knows they need this registry in order to, one day, be able to confiscate Americans' firearms. This bill would give them that. Every time you buy, sell, or transfer a firearm, the government would get a record of it.
The "Red Flag" bill is their next step. This bill would give the government the power to disarm innocent American gun owners and confiscate their firearms without even having to charge them with a crime. Instead of innocent until proven guilty, this bill would make America's gun owners guilty until proven innocent...
And the last piece of the Left's gun control agenda is a new version of the Assault Weapons Ban. The new bill, written by Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and David Cicilline (D-RI). The bill would go farther than the 1994 bill and ban literally tens of millions of commonly owner rifles, shotguns, and pistols.
That is the Left's plan: register gun owners, secure the power to confiscate guns from innocent people, and then ban the guns.
And the GOP is just agreeing to all of this. It is completely shameful.
The NRA has started warning Trump and the Republicans, but their power isn't what it used to be. The NRA is in crisis right now because of scandals in their leadership, and the GOP knows it. That is why Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH) thinks he can get away with flipping on gun control. Last year, he had a 93 rating from the NRA. Today, he is supporting the Left's entire gun control agenda.
The NRA isn't going to be able to scare the Republicans straight this time... it is up to you to stop this!
There is always a push for new gun control after a mass shooting. There are usually a handful of Republicans that team up with the Left, but pressure always forces the leadership to back down.
This time, it is different. Republicans are flipping faster than we have ever seen before. Mitch McConnell has now admitted that the Left's entire gun control package -- registry, confiscations, gun bans -- is going to be front-and-center in the Senate. The House is planning to call an emergency session to push these new bills through.
And in the midst of all of this, President Donald Trump is telling them that he wants to sign a new gun control package into law.
The fight is here. You can't escape it anymore. It has reached your doorstep.
