Republican traitors are now working with Nancy Pelosi to undo President Trump's United Nations and foreign aid cuts!
President Trump is making good on his promise to put America First. Last week, we reported that the administration would cut 4 billion from the foreign aid budget. We were right. We can now confirm that the Trump administration is moving forward with these America First cuts, stopping American taxd ollars from being funneled to anti-American countries abroad.
Over the past year, we have covered all of the foreign aid programs that Trump has cut. For example, when the Palestinian Authority was caught using USAID funds to buy anti-American school textbooks, Trump cut over 60 million in aid destined for the UN's Palestinian Refugee Agency. When Pakistan refused to cooperate with American counter-terrorism operations, Trump cut their aid by 440 million (and threatened more). And when countries like Guatemala reneged on their promises to crack down on illegal immigrants marching through their country to reach the United States, Trump cut hundreds of millions in funding to Central America as well.
How can Trump block the funding? Through a process known as "rescission." Under the law, the President can send a rescission request letter to Congress for permission to cut appropriated funding. The funds are then frozen and Congress is given 45 days to consider the request. If Congress approves, then the funding is officially cut. But if Congress takes no action in 45 days, then the funds are unfrozen and must be disbursed.
Here is the truly genius part of Trump's plan. The government's fiscal year ends on September 30. That is less than 45 days away. As you know, the government operates under a use-it or lose-it system. If funding is not used by the end of the fiscal year, it expires and goes back to the Treasury.
What that means is that Trump has the power to cut this foreign aid funding without Congress' approval. Even if Congress refuses to authorize the cuts and the rescission request expires after 45 days, the fiscal year will be over at that point. Instead of the funds being unfrozen, they would be returned to the Treasury.
It really is a genius plan. Congress, however, isn't happy. Over the weekend, Nancy Pelosi sent the White House a letter accusing Trump of breaking the law by cutting this funding. Pelosi promised there would be consequences if the White House went through with this.
We expected that. But what we didn't expect was that Republicans would sign onto the letter too... Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), the ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, and Sen. Jim Risch (R-ID), the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, both signed on threatening the White House if Trump went through with the planned cuts. The President is making good on his promise to cut aid funding to the United Nations and our country's enemies abroad. And now the GOP is teaming up with Democrats to stop him!
Democrats have a plan to stop President Trump. Over the next three weeks, Congress must pass a spending package for next year. The Left's plan is to tack the aid funding onto next year's appropriations bill and block Pres. Trump from ever being able to cut it again.
And Pelosi has Republican support. Not just in the House, but in the Senate as well. President Trump is literally putting America first and the GOP is lining up to help Democrats stop him!
It is shameful...
The vast majority of Americans have no idea what "rescission" is, and the media certainly isn't going to cover this. The GOP thinks you won't notice this betrayal. They think they can push through the Democrats' radical spending package without facing any consequences.
But now you know. Now you know that the Republican leadership is not only trying to undermine Trump, but they are teaming up with the Democrats to do it. Now you know that the GOP is scheming to give billions away to foreign countries and organizations that hate us.
And with that knowledge comes a responsibility to act. If you don't fight back against this, no one will!
We have an opportunity -- right now -- to set this country on the right path again. This is what it means to take the country back. This is what it means to put America First.
But the GOP leadership is lining up to stop President Trump. They want to force the President to disburse all of the foreign aid that Congress approved, even if it would go to our enemies and be used to undermine the United States.
Since 2017, Trump has cut tens of billions from these wasteful foreign aid program. But this new Pelosi-GOP scheme would restore the State Department's aid funding to Obama-levels. And the bill they are voting on would require that Trump disburse every single cent of aid, no matter what.
They want to make it like Obama never left office...
You cannot allow this to happen!
The only reason the GOP is teaming up with Democrats is because they think you won't recognize what they're doing.
That is why it is important for you to fight back right now and shut this betrayal down before it goes any further!
