It is with great pleasure that I inform you that late last night, the Pentagon announced that it was backtracking and retaining Sgt. First Class Charles Martland. This is the Army Green Beret who was facing an involuntary discharge for shoving an Afghan police officer who admitted to raping a child.

He will not be discharged and will be allowed to continue serving in the Army.

This would not have happened without your activism. Over the past half year, you helped to take a seldom-covered story and force it onto the front page.

With your help, we bombarded Congress with hundreds of thousands of faxes demanding they take a stand to defend this Bronze Star recipient and we helped to take an obscure House Resolution and bring it into the forefront with 52 co-sponsors.

This American hero answered the call to defend you, and you rose to the occasion to defend him.

We here at Conservative Daily will always defend our military men and women from the mistreatment they receive under this administration. That is our commitment to you and our commitment to everyone who has ever worn the uniform.
