Fellow Conservative,
We have officially entered the second month of the Trump Presidency and based on what Congress has accomplished, you’d have thought that Hillary Clinton won.
GOP leadership has backed down on immigration. The illegals are going to be allowed to stay. They’ve backed down on refugees and allowed activist judges to let radicals pour into the country. They’re now backing down on tax cuts.
They voted to repeal Obamacare dozens of times but now that they have the votes, they’ve magically misplaced the repeal legislation.
Plenty of bills have been introduced. But there has been no movement in committee. Paul Ryan and Co. brought the entire process to a halt.
This is shameful.
By this time in 2009, the Democrats had already passed the Stimulus, the Lilly Ledbetter Act, CHIP expansion, and begun talks on Obamacare.
The GOP has accomplished nothing. And that goes all the way to the top.
It’s not personal. The current leadership is simply not interested in or capable of implementing the agenda that the American people voted for…
They’ve had years to get legislation ready. They have also had months since the election to prepare.
Still nothing.
Paul Ryan isn’t going to get the job done. Neither is Mitch McConnell. And as long as we have clowns like John McCain and Lindsey Graham holding leadership positions, the Obama agenda will remain.
President Trump is already dealing with activist judges and moles within his own administration. Now he’s getting stabbed in the back by his own party’s Congressional leadership…
When Paul Ryan ran for Vice President, I can’t count the number of times he promised to get bills passed on day one. He lost that election and had four years to prepare for the next one.
Paul Ryan is either incompetent or a liar.
The fact of the matter is that the GOP leadership never expected to win. They didn’t even bother writing legislation to pass if Trump won. They assumed he would get destroyed and actually campaigned against Trump.
Now they’re the ones we’re supposed to rely on?
No way.
We don’t have to settle. We don’t have to accept this.
We didn’t fight for 8 years and claw this country back only to have the Republican Party steal it from us.
That is what this is. We successfully reclaimed this country and now the very people we believed were allies are now deliberately pumping the brakes.
We can do better. We have to do better.
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
