Fellow American,
This is it. By the end of this week, Barack Obama’s Pentagon will make its determination for whether Army Sergeant 1st Class Charles Martland will be reinstated or involuntarily discharged for defending an Afghan child rape victim.
We all remember this man’s story. A mother came up to Martland and his unit and begged them to save her son from the local police commander. The boy was kidnapped, chained to a bed, and raped for a week and a half. The Army medical staff examined the boy and confirmed that he was being savagely abused.
When Martland confronted the police commander, the Afghan laughed, admitted to everything, and then dared the Americans to do something about it.
By the end of the week, the Pentagon will decide whether Martland losing his cool and pushing a confessed child rapist is grounds for discharging him from the Army.
Here we have an Army Green beret (Special Forces) who dedicated the last 11 years of his life to defending this country and the Obama administration is siding with a confessed Afghan child rapist over one of our own. Despicable…
With your help, we have sent hundreds of thousands of faxes to Congress demanding they intervene and save this hero’s military career.
You have moved the needle. You’ve helped to take House Resolution 451 to reinstate Martland and driven it up to 52 bipartisan co-sponsors.
But this is the end of the road. Literally.
May 1st is the last day that the Pentagon can rule on Martland’s appeal. They can’t delay it any longer.
By the end of this week, the Obama administration will decide whether to let this Green Beret and two-time Bronze Star recipient serve his country or kick him to the curb.
Barack Obama is kicking a Green Beret out of the Army – one who received a Bronze Star for Valor – all because he defended a child rape victim. Obama’s political correctness is so out of control that he would favor an Afghan rapist over an American hero.
Charles Martland represents the best of us. Not only did he answer the call to serve his country, but also he dedicated his life to the military. Becoming a Green Beret and joining the Special Forces is a serious commitment. In combat, Martland went above and beyond, receiving two Bronze Stars, including one for Valor. When confronted with evidence of grave abuse against children, he refused to stand by and watch.
He answered the call to defend us, to defend you and your family. He put his life on the line to protect this country and when confronted with pure evil, he defended the innocent. Now, his head is on the chopping block.
Whether you have already joined the movement to get this man reinstated or not, I beg you: Don’t let the Pentagon ruin this hero’s military career. Don’t let them involuntarily discharge this hero.
He answered the call and was willing to give everything to protect us.
Now it is our turn.
House Resolution 451 couldn’t be simpler. It has just four bullet points:
“(1) Members of the United States Armed Forces should not be punished for standing up to child rapists;
(2) Putting the interests of Afghan rapists ahead of American war heroes is a national disgrace;
(3) The Americans who should be punished are those who created and condone the immoral and reprehensible policy that encourages members of the Armed Forces to ignore child rape; and
(4) The Secretary of Defense should immediately order the reinstatement of Sergeant First Class Charles Martland as a member of the Army."
Not only will this resolution save Sgt. Martland’s career, but it will stop Obama, or any President for that matter, from putting the rights of child rapists over American military personnel. Period.
Martland is out of time. By the end of the week, his fate will be sealed. I don’t know about you, but I flat-out REFUSE to let them punish this American hero and this is our last chance to stop this injustice!
