While controversy swirls around various legislative proposals for even stricter gun control legislation, below the radar is the increasing militarization of police agencies in the country from the federal government down to local police departments.
THIS IS NOT RIGHT!
Whether you know it or not, the federal government is trying to take over our local law enforcement…lock, stock, and barrel.
The militarization of your local law enforcement by the federal government goes on, even without your knowledge! However, you must be aware of our federal laws that generally FORBID the federal military from law enforcement activities within the United States. The traditional role of law enforcement officers in America has been as peace keepers, NOT soldiers!
Although we rarely agree with the ACLU, they are launching a nationwide probe into the police militarization by the federal government.
Please fax every Member of the United States Congress to urge them to start an official PROBE into these allegations today!
It appears that the ultimate goal of the Obama Administration is to build an “Obama Police State” in the United States of America!
Whatever we have to do, we must make sure this does NOT happen!
According to huffingtonpost.com. “The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has launched a nationwide campaign to assess police militarization in the United States. ACLU affiliates in 23 states are sending open records, especially in relationship to SWAT team usage.
“The affiliates will ask for information about drones, GPS tracking devices, how much military equipment the police agencies have obtained through programs run through the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security, and how often and for what purpose state National Guards are participating in enforcement of drug laws.
Kara Dansky, senior counsel at the ACLU’s Center for Justice, retorts: “We’ve known for a while now that American neighborhoods are increasingly being policed by cops armed with the weapons and tactics of war. The aim of this investigation is to find out just how pervasive this is, and to what extent federal funding is incentivizing this trend.”
Peter Kraska, a criminologist at Eastern Kentucky University, who in the late 1990’s conducted two highly-publicized surveys of police departments across the country, and a follow-up survey, years later. He estimates that the total number of SWAT raids in America jumped from just a few hundred per year in 1970s, to a few THOUSAND by the early 180’s, to around 50,000 by the mid-2000’s. The vast majority of those raids were to serve warrants on people suspected of nonviolent drug crimes!
Kraska, also the senior consultant at the ACLU’s Center for Justice, declared: “ We’ve known for a while now that American neighborhoods are increasingly being policed by cops armed with the weapons and tactics of war. The aim of this investigation is to find out just how pervasive this is, and to what extent federal funding is incentivizing this trend.”
In spite of the federal government trying to disarm the citizen via gun control, it is arming its departments and state police to the maximum!
Something is up?! The combined number of armed personnel from various federal agencies is estimated to now be around 120,000. Friends that, in itself, is a standing army!

Worse than the numbers of ammunition has been purchased, is the number of federal agents (as well as local police officers armed the Feds) that have been given ammunition!
In 2009, President Obama said: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
But does that include the federal government ARMING our local authorities?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
Forbes Magazine adds: “Why indeed? It is utterly inconceivable that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is planning a coup d’etat against President Obama, and the Congress, to install herself as Supreme Ruler of the United States of America. There, however, are real signs that the Department bureaucrats are running amok. About 20 years ago this columnist worked, for two years, in the U.S. Department of Energy’s general counsel’s office in its procurement and finance division. And is wise to the ways. The answer to “why would DHS need such a vehicle?” almost certainly is this: it’s a cool toy and these (reportedly) million dollar toys are being recycled, without much of an impact on the DHS budget. So… why not?
