“To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." -George Mason
In January, Senator Dianne Feinstein will introduce a bill to stop the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devices.
A partial summary of Feinstein’s legislation:
Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
120 specifically-named firearms and certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test and banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee
Type and serial number of the firearm
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint

We need overwhelming support right now in Washington for our Constitution and our Second Amendment.
Those in favor of gun control believe in restricting our freedom and they believe that if they “do” something, it will help ease the pain of the tragedy in Newtown and the previous shootings that stunned our nation. But, it won’t.
This is going to be a tough fight because Members of Congress who previously have been friendly to our Second Amendment rights are skittish over the tragedy in Newtown. They are reacting emotionally and are not looking at all the facts of what happened. They just feel they need to do something…so calling for gun control is a natural next step.
They have been trying to sneak gun control language into various bills, and the administration is actively working with the United Nations on a Small Arms Treaty to be finalized in March. There is great support in Congress for gun control—Feinstein’s legislation could very well be passed.
Obama has wanted to remove our Second Amendment protections for some time now. And now he has the support of Members of Congress, the media, Hollywood loudmouths and especially the bitter, angry Brit Piers Morgan that has no business butting his head into our laws. They are all using the nightmare in Newtown to justify taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year to stop or deter crimes. This is a crisis situation for our Second Amendment. We must flood Congress with faxes and demand they protect our Second Amendment rights. Do not let the horror of what occurred in Newtown become President Obama’s impetus for pushing through his ultimate goal of massive gun control and confiscation.
The Newtown shooter could not get past Connecticut’s tough gun laws when he tried to buy one…so he STOLE one instead.
Huge, overreaching gun laws are not going to stop crazy people from acquiring a gun and going on a rampage. But, when bad things happen, the situation improves when the cops show up…why? The cops are the one's with guns.
We don’t need gun control. We need freedom. Demand that Congress honor the rights we are guaranteed under our Constitution. Your voice is needed, now.
