The Second Amendment to our Constitution that was ratified by the states reads:
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
What, then, other than a differing opinion and radical ideology, makes Senator Dianne Feinstein believe Congress should pass S. 150, legislation that will dramatically limit our Second Amendment rights? Even the title of S. 150 broadcasts her extreme intentions: “To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.”
Before they can confiscate, they must create a registry. Feinstein proposes to:
Force owners of ALL "grandfathered" weapons to undergo an intrusive background check and fingerprinting, then federally register their guns after obtaining a permission slip from local law enforcement showing their guns are not in violation of state or local law
Ban the sale, transfer, importation, and manufacturing of 120 specifically named rifles, shotguns and handguns
Ban the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of all firearms with a detachable magazine and at least one "military” or “assault” characteristic -- which could mean just about anything that the anti-Second Amendment crowd says is too scary
Ban the sale, transfer, importation, and manufacturing of magazines holding more than 10 rounds

The irony and hypocrisy of the gun control Left is amazing. Texas State Democratic Party official John Cobarruvi called the NRA a “domestic terrorist organization” on Twitter and said members should be assassinated. So the gun control left is fine with gun violence, as long as it’s used on the right people?
This is a crisis situation for our Second Amendment. Guns are used 2.5 million times a year to stop or deter crimes. Cities like Chicago, with strict gun control laws, have astronomical gun violence rates. The “logic” of the Left doesn’t add up and we cannot let them control the narrative with a bunch of lies. We must flood Congress with faxes and demand they protect our Second Amendment rights. Do not let the horror of what occurred in Newtown become President Obama’s impetus for pushing through his ultimate goal of massive gun control and confiscation.
Of course, Newtown is just a convenient reason for the mainstream media to chew on Feinstein and Obama have been working on gun control legislation for years. Obama, in particular, has never been a fan of Second Amendment rights. His record:
As a state legislator in Illinois, he supported banning the sale or transfer of all semi-automatic firearms and increasing state restrictions on purchase and possession
Sponsored a bill in 2000 limiting handgun purchases to one a month
Voted against a measure allowing self-defense as a reason to violate local laws, and voted against allowing victims of domestic violence with protective orders to carry handguns for protection
Is against concealed carry
Has said, “I think there is an individual right to bear arms, but it's subject to commonsense regulation.”
That means, Obama’s “common sense.” His rules. His agenda.
Every single Member of Congress needs to know that we will not compromise our Constitutional rights, and we will hold those who do accountable in 2014, 2016, and beyond. The Left will be working on legislation and behind the scenes (bullying gun manufacturers and shaming gun owners) to wrap this thing up and kill the Second Amendment. Don’t let them.
Once they disarm us, it’s over. Stand up for freedom, protect yourself against tyranny and demand Congress honor the rights we are guaranteed under our Constitution.
