Fellow Conservative,
Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos is a five-time deported illegal alien. He just pled guilty to starting a forest fire in Sequoia National Forest in California.
The forest fire is estimated to have cost the United States government more than $61 million. That’s your money…
His actions killed untold amounts of wildlife and caused irreparable damage to a National Forest that was thousands of years in the making.
Yes, many of the Sequoias are estimated to be between 1800–2700 years old. This five-time deported illegal alien literally destroyed a national monument, all because of Obama’s political correctness…
Why am I writing you about an illegal alien who burned down a forest that is thousands of years old? Because not only was he set free by a sanctuary city, but the Obama administration is going to deport him again to give him another chance to re-enter the country.
Want to hear the most ludicrous part? This illegal alien will be forced to pay back the $61 million to the Federal government… through monthly $25 payments.
Many of these Sequoias are over 2,000 years old. The government’s repayment plan would take this illegal alien over 200,000 years to pay back the damage he caused… So not only are they going to let him free, but they aren’t even going to try to force him to repay the damage he caused…
Congress had the opportunity to pass both Kate’s Law and Sarah’s Law to stop this from happening. They refused. It is time for you to force them to!
There are two pieces of legislation before Congress that would have stopped this illegal alien from burning down a National Forest.
Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos had been deported five-times. Each time, he was dropped on the other side of the border and given the opportunity to re-enter the country.
Kate’s Law is a simple bill that would attach mandatory minimum sentences to any criminal illegal alien caught re-entering the United States after being deported. If a criminal illegal alien is caught re-entering the country, he or she would get a mandatory minimum 5-year prison sentence. That mandatory minimum doubles with each repeat offense.
If Congress had passed Kate’s Law – named after Kate Steinle – this past year, we wouldn’t be talking about this illegal alien being deported and given another chance to re-enter. Instead, we’d be talking about him receiving a 5 or 10 year prison sentence.
But Congress refused to pass Kate’s Law. So when Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos is deported, he will be able to re-enter the United States for a sixth time without consequence.
There is also Sarah’s Law, named after Sarah Root, a young girl who was killed by an illegal alien drunk driver. Her killer was allowed to post bail while she was still clinging to life in the hospital. This legislation would essentially get rid of Sanctuary Cities by amending the Immigration and Nationality Act to “require the federal government to take custody of anyone who entered the country illegally, violated the terms of their immigration status, or had their visa revoked and is thereafter charged with a crime resulting in the death or serious bodily injury of another person.”
If Sarah’s Law was on the books, Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos would not have been released from the county jail and allowed to start a forest fire.
But Congress also refused to even hold a vote on Sarah’s Law…
This is UNACCEPTABLE!
The votes are there to move these bills through committee and to the floor for a full vote. The sponsors and co-sponsors of these bills hold all the power.
They are being held back. For whatever reason, they are not moving forward.
That changes today!
This isn't just about punishing someone for burning down parts of a National Forest. This is about making sure that illegal aliens caught re-entering the United States are not allowed to commit crimes in the United States.
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
