Race, class and gender wars are par for the course under President Barack Obama. And the divisiveness continues as elitist liberals argue that women don’t have the guts or intelligence to defend themselves with a gun. In other words, the Second Amendment, even as it hangs by a thread for all of us, must only apply to men.
The Second Amendment to our Constitution that was ratified by the states reads:
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Those words are very clear: the right of the people…men and women…shall not be infringed. Yet, the radical gun control group has become unhinged since the Sandy Hook shootings and they are counting on their good friend in the White House to put the final nail in the coffin on our right to bear arms.
Obama has never been a fan of Second Amendment rights. He and his administration actually orchestrated an illegal gun running operation (“Fast and Furious”) in order to prove that guns are bad. Yes, guns are bad in the hands of the wrong people. But Obama doesn’t consider himself, or the government, dangerous. Interesting, because many have died at the hands of Fast and Furious guns, and our Department of Homeland Security is continuing to amass large quantities of ammunition—as our government works to prevent you and I from doing the same thing.

Now we are being told that young women on college campuses should look for other ways to protect themselves. The whisper is beginning in Colorado, where Sen. Jessie Ulibarri suggested that women use ballpoint pens to stab the gunman as he stops to reload. Rep. Paul Rosenthal helpfully suggested the buddy system, or learning judo.
Why, you might ask, would this even be an issue? Well, Colorado Rep. Joe Salazar pointed out that women shouldn’t be making a determination as to whether they are in trouble or not—and if they do, they could be wrong. He said, “Because you just don’t know who you’re going to be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around, or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be…”
It’s not just a Colorado problem. At State University of New York at Plattsburgh, women are told to use “passive resistance,” such as vomiting, urinating or telling the attacker you are sick. At Oregon State, women are encouraged to say they are sick or pregnant. And the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh tells them to act “emotionally unstable.” Because we all know when a gun is pointed at your head, acting emotionally unstable is a surefire way to stop the madman from pulling the trigger.
Liberals cannot be serious with this craziness. And where are the women’s groups to stand up and demand rights for women? Are they so busy with their pro-abortion rallies this week they can’t make time to defend the Second Amendment?
Logical arguments don’t work for the Left. They can’t back up gun control legislation with improved crime statistics, and they can’t say the Sandy Hook shooting wouldn’t have occurred had tough regulations been in effect—because Connecticut has some of the toughest laws in the country, and nothing else, save armed school officials, would have stopped his rampage.
So they start getting wacky with their opinions. Former chairwoman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises, Christie Hefner blamed Chicago’s warm weather for the high crime rate. They go crazy on Twitter, calling gun rights groups names and accusing them of being terrorists. And then, they say women would be better off faking an illness or acting crazy in the face of a threat rather than just utilizing a gun and stopping the attacker immediately.
Every single Member of Congress needs to know that we will not compromise our Constitutional rights, and we will hold those who do accountable in 2014, 2016, and beyond. Obama has laid out his 23-point executive plan and Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced her drastic, freedom killing legislation. The Left will continue working on legislation, whipping up silly ideas, and bullying companies behind the scenes in order to eliminate our Second Amendment. Don’t let them.
Once they disarm us, it’s over. Stand up for freedom, protect yourself against tyranny and demand Congress honor the rights we are guaranteed under our Constitution.
