Ted Cruz's latest bill is just common sense. Senate Judicial Resolution 1 would impose term limits on members of Congress, limiting Congressmen to serving three terms (six years) and Senators to serving two (12 years).
And that is how it should be. Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer have all been in office for over 30 years. That's not service, it's personal enrichment.
Does anyone really think that a career politician can bring new and fresh ideas to the table after holding a seat for 30-40 years? Of course not...
That is why the Establishment of both parties is fighting so hard against this. They are desperate to cling on to their power for as long as possible.
Mitch McConnell ordered Ted Cruz to stand down. The Senator from Texas is defying the Majority Leader and moving forward with forcing a vote!
This is absolutely necessary to return the United States to the service model that the Founders envisioned. If this amendment passes, then Members of Congress would officially be put on the clock.
There are other term limit proposals in Congress. One would cut off Congressional salaries and benefits after two or three terms. While this means well, most members of Congress are wealthy. Nancy Pelosi, for example, has a net worth of over 70 million. Cutting off her salary would do nothing to drag her out of office...
The only way to take back this Republic is to impose real term limits on Members of Congress.
It's not just the establishment that is fighting against this. The donor class and lobbyists are desperate to stop Cruz's bill too. They have invested billions in buying loyalty from members of Congress. They aren't about to let their "investment" go without a fight.
There is a reason that Republicans and Democrats are trying to kill this bill. They know that this is our best chance to truly drain the swamp.
Ted Cruz is defying McConnell and trying to push it through, but he needs your help.
It is up to you to take this country back!
This is our moment in history. This is our chance to take this country back and restore the service model that the Founders designed.
Don't let it pass you by!
