The Obama administration has announced that it will NOT release 500 pages of documents related to the IRS targeting scandal!
It seems like it has been forever since Lois Lerner and the IRS have been in the news. But now, we’re learning what we had suspected all along: there is something so damaging in those documents that the White House simply refuses to release them.
There are 512 documents that the administration is holding onto, to be exact. They have been deemed to be unfit for public consumption… What on earth does that mean?
Well, the administration claims that these documents and emails contain privileged and private information.
It has been 20 months since the IRS scandal broke. For 20 months, Lois Lerner has been free to collect her government pension. This is unacceptable!
This must end!
Last Friday, in an attempt to bury the Senate Finance Committee, the IRS delivered 86,000 new documents. Congress was given no warning or explanation about what these documents were and they were delivered 20 months after they were originally subpoenaed.
But the White House is still holding on to those 512 pages…
What are in these documents? Well, they include some of Lois Lerner’s emails (which were supposed to have been destroyed). What the Administration seemed to forget is that every email has a recipient. Just because the sender’s hard drive crashes, doesn’t change the fact that the email still exists on the recipient’s computer.
So, a Freedom of Information Act Request was filed, asking for all emails between Lois Lerner and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (the person in charge of investigating the scandal).
Why would these emails be confidential and classified? What could Lois Lerner possibly have written to the Inspector charged with investigating her?
Here’s what’s even more suspicious. The government is refusing to release these emails because they claim that they contain “personal communications.” Other documents were withheld because they could potentially interfere in an ongoing investigation. How can we have an investigation if the White House refuses to release the evidence???
How on earth do intergovernmental emails become classified as “personal communications?” First, we were told that Ms. Lerner’s emails didn’t exist. Now that they’ve been found, they’ve been classified because they contain “personal communications.”
It doesn’t get more corrupt than this!
I’m telling you… we are so close to blowing the lid off of this scandal. We are so close to getting to the bottom of it and holding these criminals accountable.
But the only way that happens is by raising our collective voices and DEMANDING that Congress resume the investigation into the IRS scandal!
But this is just the tip of the iceberg. The corruption spreads throughout the entire Obama administration. It has been EIGHT months since the House of Representatives held Lois Lerner in Contempt of Congress for her refusal to testify.
In those eight months, the matter still hasn’t even been referred to a Grand Jury! That’s because the decision is up to Ronald Machen, the District Attorney for the District of Columbia who also happens to be an Obama appointee.
That is why these 512 documents are so important. The administration is using every excuse and technicality to keep these documents classified. Obviously, there’s something in there that the American people aren’t supposed to see!
The GOP now controls both chambers in Congress and we haven’t heard anything about the IRS scandal. That ends today!
