It wasn't an accident. The GOP didn't just accidentally block border wall funding for the first two years of the Trump Presidency. They did that deliberately.
Paul Ryan had promised Republicans and GOP donors that he would block the wall, no matter what. That is exactly what he did.
But now, we are seeing that it wasn't just him. All of the Republicans who have spent years promising border security are now promising to take action against President Trump if he uses his constitutional and legal authority to build the wall on his own. The loudest threat came from none other than Marco Rubio.
On NBC's Meet The Press, Chuck Todd asked Rubio to his face whether he would fight President Trump if he tried to use an executive order to build the wall on his own.
"Sure. Because I think it's important."
A high ranking Republican is actually promising to fight President Trump if he tries to secure the border. Why? Because the GOP wants to trade border security for the biggest amnesty bill ever!
As Establishment Republicans and Democrats start meeting behind closed doors to negotiate a border security bill, we're learning that border wall funding is once again NOT on the table. They're going to try to force Trump to give up on securing the border!
Let's paint the picture: Democrats are still refusing to approve any border wall funding. They're demanding amnesty for illegals and the best that Nancy Pelosi can offer is a technological wall, which she described as an "electronic dog." No, that's not a joke.
Republicans, meanwhile, are willing to give the left everything they want and won't even lift a finger to fight for border security. So, of course people like Marco Rubio are terrified of Trump going it alone. It would mean an end to their amnesty dreams!
President Trump absolutely has the power to declare a national emergency over the southern border. Every single President has used the National Emergencies Act to disburse discretionary funding to deal with emergencies and challenges. Currently, there are at least 31 active national emergencies in this country and the vast majority were not issued by Trump. This is discretionary funding that Congress approved.
President Trump tried to use the shutdown to pressure the Left into funding the wall. In the end, it was Congressional Republicans who couldn't hold it together. More than a dozen Republicans in Congress voted last week with the Left to re-open the government without approving any border security funding. In the end, the bill to re-open the government without funding the wall was near-unanimous.
These people aren't going to fight for border security on their own. Their basic instinct is to fight against the wall. Their corporate donors demand open borders.
It is up to YOU to put the fear of God into them!
It wasn't long ago that Lindsey Graham was considered one of the most anti-Trump Republican Senators. But during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, he woke up. He realized the radicals on the Left for what they were and started fighting back.
But he didn't do that in a vacuum. His constituents forced him to take a stand.
The pressure is even starting to get to some Democrats. When the government shutdown first started, Democrats were pretty united behind Pelosi's plan to block any and all border wall funding.
Today, there are 60 Congressional Democrats who have abandoned Pelosi's hardline position and declared they would support at least some border wall funding. That includes Steny Hoyer, the #2 Democrat in the House leadership.
Recent polling shows that Nancy Pelosi's approval rating took the biggest hit during the government shutdown. Democrats know that the American people will not accept them refusing to appropriate any border security funding.
The future of this country will depend on who caves first: Democrats or Republicans.
The Trump administration continues to lay the groundwork to declare the national emergency. This is a lawful and constitutional power that Trump has. But Republicans are already lining up and threatening to fight the order!
It is up to you to fight back against this cowardice before it's too late!
