Republicans and Democrats are more divided these days than ever before. There isn't a whole lot that both sides agree on nowadays.

But there is one thing: term limits.

A shocking majority of Americans support imposing term limits on members of Congress. Polls show that between 78 and 85 percent of Americans support limiting how long Congressmen and Senators can "serve" in Congress.

The establishments of both parties, however, are the exact opposite. They have spent decades securing their power and aren't willing to just give it up. That is why Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Mitch McConnell are all working together to stop the term limits resolution from reaching the floor.

But soon, they won't be able to stop it! Just this past week, MORE House and Senate Republicans joined the push to bring the term limit resolution to the floor for a full vote!

Shut the career politicians down! Send your instant message to Congress right now and FORCE a vote on these common sense Drain the Swamp term limits amendments!

Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL) just became the latest Congressman to sign onto one of the term limit resolutions. H.J.Res. 4 would cap Congressional service at 12 years (6 terms in the House and 2 terms in the Senate). This resolution even has a Democrat -- Ro Khanna (D-CA) -- signed on as a co-sponsor.

In the Senate, support has coalesced behind Ted Cruz's S.J.Res. 1. Three Conservative Senators recently signed on as co-sponsors -- Josh Hawley (R-MO), Martha McSally (R-AZ), and Tim Scott (R-SC). This Senate resolution would limit Senators to 12 years (two terms) but cap Congressmen at 6 years (three terms). President Trump is on board as well, pledging his full support to Cruz's resolution.

Both chambers have different plans for how to impose term limits. Not surprisingly, each chamber believes that they should be allowed to stay in office the longest.

This is a healthy debate. But it is a debate that both Democrat and Republican leaders refuse to let us have. Collectively, Pelosi, Schumer, and McConnell have "served" in Congress for 104 years. They have each "served" for over three decades. Of course they want to block a resolution that would cap them at 12...

Does anyone actually think that someone in office for 30, 40, or even 50 years can bring new, fresh ideas to the table? People who stay in office this long aren't serving their communities... they're just serving themselves. Either of these term limit resolutions would fix that for good.

Here is the best part: These resolutions aren't just pieces of legislation... they are constitutional amendments! They would write term limits into the Constitution and outlaw career politicians forever!

Make no mistake: the establishment and their donors will do everything they can to stop us. Career politicians like McConnell will do anything they can to cling to their power. Their donors and lobbyists will also do everything in their power to protect their "investments."

If we are going to win this fight, it is going to have to come from the People. It is going to have to come from YOU!

Keep up the pressure! Send your instant message to Congress right now and FORCE a vote on these common sense Drain the Swamp term limits amendments!

Sincerely,

Joe Otto
