It is based on a true story that follows the genuine reality of child sex trafficking which is occurring in unprecedented numbers around the globe. 

Tim Ballard, a former government agent for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), founded Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R), which has been credited with saving the lives of thousands of trafficked victims. The Sound of Freedom follows Ballard, played by Jim Caveziel, on his journey to save trafficked victims in Colombia. 

Human Trafficking, and especially child sex trafficking, is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. It is an industry with a prosperous economy and a demand that keeps clawing its way higher, profiting off what can only be described as the torture of our most precious and innocent human beings. This scourge, as shown and brought to light by the Sound of Freedom, is active in nearly every single part of the world, including and especially the United States.
