A Chinese Spy Balloon somehow just popped into U.S. airspace in Montana and is being permitted to roam all over the nation. The Chinese are running surveillance (at best) over the entire country, and the U.S. government is gaslighting the public that this is no big deal.

According to the AP, a senior defense official told Pentagon reporters that the U.S. has “very high confidence” it is a Chinese high-altitude balloon, that the balloon was flying over sensitive sites to collect information, and that the U.S. has “engaged” Chinese officials through multiple channels and communicated the seriousness of the matter.

“The defense official said the spy balloon was trying to fly over the Montana missile fields, but the U.S. has assessed that it has “limited” value in terms of providing China intelligence it couldn’t already collect by other means, such through spy satellites.”

That’s just a silly gaslight – the altitude of a balloon and the altitude of a satellite are so vastly different. Obviously, the balloon would have greater collection capabilities due to proximity alone. And who knows what tech is loaded onto that balloon that can operate within that proximity? The defense official cannot answer that question, because they have not yet intercepted the balloon. They don’t know, and they seem completely uninterested in finding out.

Since the initial reporting, the Sky Circle has traversed the homeland, capturing intelligence and captivating the nation.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte said it best: “From the spy balloon to the Chinese Communist Party spying on Americans through TikTok to CCP-linked companies buying American farmland, I’m deeply troubled by the constant stream of alarming developments for our national security.”

Where is the oversight? Where is the national defense? Why is the balloon floating all over the nation without being intercepted by the U.S. military?

America looks weak on the world stage, right now. Remember your oath.
