It is absolutely 100% accurate to say that voting by mail increases the likelihood of voter fraud more than voting in person. The same day that Pres. Trump warned about mail-in-voter fraud (which Twitter promptly "fact-checked"), we learned that a postal worker in West Virginia had been charged with committing mail-in voter application fraud. He was caught altering people's party affiliation on their mail-in ballot applications.
I have no problem with absentee ballots. If someone is sick, disabled, or traveling and cannot make it to the polls on election day, they should absolutely turn to their states absentee ballot program.
But that isn't what Leftists are talking about implementing. They want everyone in the country to vote by mail. The system simply isn't designed to deal with that many mail in ballots. If the Democrats were to get what they want, it would be abused and fraudulent ballots would be cast.
That is what Democrats want to happen.
Don't believe me? Tucked away in Section 160004 of Nancy Pelosi's massive coronavirus spending bill is a provision eliminating state-level voter ID requirements. Pelosi's plan -- which the GOP is "negotiating" over with her -- would make it illegal for states to verify a vote-by-mail voter's identity.
We know that vote-by-mail is vulnerable to fraud. But Nancy Pelosi and the Left's bill would guarantee illegal votes are cast and the election is stolen!
That is what is so terrible about this bill. It is often said that vote-by-mail would 'open the door for voter fraud.' Well, by eliminating States' voter ID requirements, not only would Pelosi's bill 'open the door,' but it would also remove the 'locks' and the 'security system' as well!
Across the country, states have requirements for people looking to apply for absentee ballots. Unless they are bedridden, many require voters to apply for a mail-in-ballot in person and provide a driver's license to prove their identity and mailing address. This is to make sure that the person applying for an absentee ballot is who they say they are.
Under the Democrats' plan, states would not be allowed to perform this check. Applying for an absentee ballot would be on the 'honor system,' without any voter ID checks
Many states also have a secondary defense against mail-in-ballot fraud. They require absentee voters to obtain a witness signature, someone who can verify their identity. Some states even require that absentee ballots be notarized.
Pelosi's plan, not surprisingly, would also make it illegal for states to implement these security measures as well. Think about that. Pelosi wants to make it illegal for states to try to verify the identities of vote-by-mail voters...
The vote-by-mail system that Democrats are demanding would guarantee voter fraud. This is a fact.
And yet, the idiot Republicans are 'negotiating' with Pelosi and are hopeful they can come to a vote-by-mail 'compromise.'
There is no such thing as a compromise when one side is literally trying to steal an election.
The fact that the GOP is even considering this is despicable.
Mitt Romney (R-UT) is leading the Republican surrender. He has declared that there is nothing wrong with mail-in-ballots. On the House side, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) is already on record voting for this travesty.
The GOP is caving... not just to vote-by-mail, but to the Left's insistence that all voter ID requirements be abolished as well.
You cannot let them get away with this!
