HIGHER TAX RATES … SMALLER ECONOMY … FEWER JOBS … LOWER WAGES … LESS INVESTMENTOn the heels of Obama’s infamously misguided and silly statement that “if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own,” comes word that the Democrats are planning to hold America hostage and enact TAXMAGEDDON on the American people, come January.
Democrats are saying they will allow almost $600 billion of tax hikes to go through unless Republicans raise taxes on those making more than $250,000 a year.
Ernst & Young released a report warning of the damage this will do to American workers and businesses, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses said, “This report clearly shows that raising taxes on job creators will have a negative impact.”
This is the American Dream?
No … but it is Obama’s dream. It’s the dream of the Democrats. And amazingly, they admit it!
Senator Mitch McConnell’s office issued a press release defining the Democrat objective:
“Yesterday, Senate Democrat leaders said they would actually prefer to see America go off the so-called ‘fiscal cliff’ in January, along with the trauma that would unleash on our economy, than let these businesses maintain their existing tax rates.
“It was an astounding admission, so allow me to repeat it: Democrats in Congress are now saying that they would rather see taxes go up on every American at the end of the year than let about a million businesses keep what they earn now.
“This isn’t an economic agenda, it’s an ideological crusade.
- A current 8.2% unemployment rate and the projected 710,000 jobs that will be lost under his tax hike;
- The decline in workers’ living standards;
- A tax increase on investment income, estates and gifts, and earnings at all levels;
- The marriage penalty tax;
- Decrease in the child credit from $1,000 to $500;
- Increase in social security tax from 4.2% to 6.2%;
- Another recession, according to some economists.
Let’s give Obama what we really owe him: a one-way ticket OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.
America doesn’t have time for these childish and selfish games anymore. We are in a real economic crisis. We are hurting. We’ve done all the belt tightening we could possibly do while we watch the federal government continue to spend, spend and spend – then take, take and take some more from what we don’t even have.
The non-partisan group Business Roundtable sent a letter to Congress urging them to adopt the Republican plan to extend the current tax law for another year. Their Chairman, Boeing CEO James McNerney warned that this uncertainty “will spawn a dangerous crisis, threatening our economy, businesses and workers.”
When Obama says, “we’re in this together,” he’s right. We’re ALL going to be dragged down into the mucky waters of his awful, dangerous economic “plan” – and we are ALL going to suffer for it.
So, let’s be in something good together: let’s get him out of office in November, along with anyone in Congress who supports tax increases and penalties on American businesses.
Enough is enough. It’s time to STOP tax increases and vote out anyone who supports them!
