What a huge development! Going into yesterday, there were just two Republican Senators willing to object to the Electoral College results: Tommy Tuberville (AL) and Josh Hawley (MO).
Mitch McConnell and John Thune had been doing everything they could to scare the rest of the GOP away from joining the objection. It looked like they were succeeding...
But then yesterday, Senator Ted Cruz released a joint statement, co-signed by Ron Johnson (WI), James Lankford (OK), Steve Daines (MT), John Kennedy (LA), Marsha Blackburn (TN), Mike Braun (IN), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Roger Marshall (KS), and Bill Hagerty (TN) announcing that they are joining the objection to Joe Biden's so-called win*.
That puts our number, as of right now, at 12 Senators and over 140 Congressmen who will formally object to the Electoral College results.
That is enough to force the debates and votes, but we need more if we want to stop the steal!
Not only are Ted Cruz and the others refusing to certify Biden's fraud, but they are demanding an emergency 10-day audit to make sure that a fraudulent President is not inaugurated on January 20th.
“Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states,” Cruz declared yesterday.
This is exactly what we demanded. There is no requirement that Congress certify a President by January 6th. The Constitution simply requires that a new President be inaugurated on January 20th. If the Electoral College does not choose one, then the responsibility falls to Congress. If Congress remains deadlocked, then the Speaker of the House becomes the President until the deadlock can be broken.
The point is that a winner does not need to be chosen on January 6th. Congress can object to the Electoral College's votes and refuse to certify a winner until a full investigation and audit is completed.
That is what we have been calling for all along. The American people deserve to know that whoever sits at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office won the election legitimately. Right now, given everything we've found out, it is impossible to see Joe Biden as the duly-elected President.
Ted Cruz's plan would block anyone from being named the 46th President until a 10-day emergency audit was completed. At that time, Congress would reconvene and, based on the findings of the audit, choose the next President.
Democrats should be over-the-moon excited about this. For weeks, they have claimed that we are "conspiracy theorists" for doubting Biden's legitimacy. You would think that they would revel in the chance to put down conspiracy theories once and for all.
But no, they are furious. They are calling Ted Cruz's plan treason (it isn't) and sedition (it isn't). They are calling it a bloodless coup (it isn't).
The fact is that no one is above the law (as Democrats used to love reminding us). Title 3, Section 15 of the United States Code states that no one can become President unless Congress certifies the results. Ted Cruz is following the law.
But he needs your help! Yes, there are now 12 Republican Senators and 140+ GOP Congressmen joining this effort, but it is not enough. Ted Cruz needs your help to force the rest of the GOP, and what honest Democrats are left, to join his Electoral College!
The Electoral College has only been formally challenged twice in our history. Once in 1969 over a single faithless elector in North Carolina and a second time in 2004, over "irregularities" in how Ohio handled their election. In each case, the objections were filed by a single Congressman and a single Senator.
On Wednesday, we will make history. Well over 140 Congressmen will rise up an object and at least 12 Senators will challenge the legitimacy of the results. This will be the most significant objection to the Electoral College ever recorded.
But that isn't enough... We need to stop the steal. We need to stop Joe Biden's fraud from being certified...
And the only way that happens is if you rise up and demand it!
Over 152 Congressmen and Senators didn't join this objection because they thought it was the right thing to do for the country. Sure, there are some patriots in there who would have done the right thing regardless. But most of them are joining the objection because they know it is the right thing to do for their political careers... They read the tea leaves and realized that there is no path to re-election if they defy the 80+ percent of conservatives who agree that the election was stolen.
Yes, this is cynical, but it is also good news. With the Electoral College certification vote now three days away, it is far easier to make the rest of the holdouts fear being removed from office than it is to educate them on civics...
And that is where you come in...
It all comes down to this...
