This is happening right now. The House of Representatives is passing the Delivering for America Act. It is taking a bit longer than usual, since so many Democrats refused to actually show up to work and are instead voting by "proxy."
The White House has promised to veto it and Mitch McConnell has said it is "dead on arrival." That should be the end of it. But today, we are learning that while the GOP is putting up a fight on the legislation as a standalone bill, they are offering to include the provisions in a "compromise" coronavirus relief package.
This is a classic GOP maneuver. They act like they are holding the line, but surrender behind the scenes.
This legislation has two main parts. It (1) provides 25 billion in funding for the Postal Service and (2) prohibits the USPS from enacting ANY mail processing or delivery changes between now and the election (even if it is designed to increase efficiency). The Democrats debated adding their universal mail-in voting amendment, but decided that bill will come next.
The legislation is a sham. It is a solution to a problem that does not exist. As we have previously reported, there is no grand conspiracy to sabotage the postal service. It is a complete and total lie.
This is not the end-goal, though. This is just the beginning. Democrats are hoping that they can use this scheme to push through their ultimate agenda item -- universal, nationwide mail in voting -- and it is up to you to stop them!
Let's go piece by piece through this and show you why this legislation is a complete lie.
The United States Postal Service currently has $14 billion on-hand and the ability to borrow an additional 10 billion if necessary. They literally do not need a 25 billion bailout. What Democrats don't want you to know is that this part of their bill has very little to do with the November election. Almost all of this bailout would go towards "unfunded liabilities." These are the promises (health insurance, pensions, etc) that they have promised their union members. Democrats are trying to use the coronavirus as an excuse to bail out the postal workers' union.
There is also no crisis in the Post Office. Between 2011 and 2016, the United States Postal Service removed over 12,000 public mailboxes. This was done in order to streamline the mail routes. It makes zero sense to pay mail carriers to stop and check mailboxes that are never or seldom used. Democrats didn't care that the Obama administration did this. There were no hearings... no emergency Saturday votes... no accusation that Obama was trying to sabotage the 2012 or 2016 elections... During the Obama administration, the USPS also closed down entire mail sorting facilities. Again, there were no accusations of a grand conspiracy to sabotage mail-in voting.
None of this is real. I want to just put it in perspective. In recent weeks, the USPS has removed 4 public mailboxes from the city of Portland, Oregon. Democrats cried out and accused the President of interfering in the election. What they conveniently leave out is the fact that Portland will still have 448 public mailboxes or post offices residents can use.
The whole thing is a lie.
Here is the problem: this is setting the stage for a bigger fight. Democrats don't just want the bailout funds for the Post Office... They want universal, mail-in voting. They want every single registered voter in this country to receive a mail-in ballot. They want this because they know it will open the door to rampant voter fraud.
The City of Paterson, New Jersey just had its election from earlier this year invalidated. Democrat officials were caught "ballot stuffing," using fraudulent mail-in ballots to do it. This comes after the Michigan Secretary of State reported that 846 "dead people" tried to vote in their mail-in primary this year.
It is not a coincidence that this push for nationwide mail-in voting is being led by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY). She "won" her primary this summer after the race was held almost exclusively by mail. Over 13,000 ballots got tossed out for mistakes, being submitted late, or being fraudulent. After a lengthy court battle, a Judge ordered the suspect ballots to be counted. After 6 long weeks of waiting, Maloney was declared the victor.
It is no surprise that she is trying to force this sham on the rest of the country too...
And that is what Democrats are saying comes next. After decisively passing the Post Office bailout in the House, Nancy Pelosi is now doubling down on her threat: no new coronavirus assistance unless the President agrees to bailout the post office and support nationwide mail-in voting.
And the most unbelievable part is that Donald Trump seems to be agreeing to that demand!
This past week, Fox News' John Roberts asked President Trump during a press conference whether he would be willing to compromise and give the Democrats the 25 billion for the post office and the 3 billion for universal mail-in voting.
Trump responded, "sure, if they give us what we want." When I heard it, I assumed that Trump had simply heard the question wrong. But other White House and GOP negotiators have also signalled to Nancy Pelosi that while the Democrats little stunt today is dead-on-arrival, Republicans would agree to the universal mail-in voting funding as part of a larger deal.
This is what a GOP surrender looks like. They push back against the issue when it is presented as a standalone bill, but offer to "compromise" and pass it as a package if the Democrats agree to give them what they want.
I don't blame Trump. He has consistently railed against universal mail-in voting. Since he made that comment, he has reiterated that he is against universal mail-in voting. But there are Republicans who want this package to pass. And they must be stopped!
This is all going to start happening really quickly. You need to rise up and STOP this before the second shoe drops!
