Breaking: GOP Cowards cancel tech censorship hearing and refuse to issue subpoenas to Twitter and Facebook.
Republicans in Congress are so spineless, it might be time to start classifying them as invertebrates...
Last week, when Facebook and Twitter were caught illegally blocking users from accessing the New York Post bombshell story about Hunter Biden's laptop, Ted Cruz immediately announced that the Judiciary Committee would hold a vote Tuesday (today) to subpoena the heads of Twitter and Facebook to answer for what they did.
The GOP said that they needed the weekend to draft the subpoenas and that they would be ready first thing Tuesday.
Well, today is supposed to be subpoena day. But instead of holding Big Tech accountable as-promised, the GOP just gave up.
The hearing for today was abruptly cancelled. Instead of voting on the Twitter and Facebook subpoenas today, now Lindsey Graham is promising a vote on Thursday.
The only problem is that Thursday's hearing is dedicated to Amy Coney Barrett's committee vote. In order to add the subpoena to the agenda, Graham will need to make the hearing longer. And Democrats are promising to walk out if Lindsey Graham dares force a vote on subpoenas against these social media companies.
Even if Lindesy Graham does manage to secure a quorum and approve the subpoenas, the earliest that the Twitter and Facebook executives would testify would be in the middle of next week. If they claim a scheduling conflict - which is a pretty standard delay tactic - then the actual hearing would take place just a couple days before the election and far too late to stop what these tech companies are doing!
The GOP knows this. They made a promise to finally hold these tech companies accountable for anti-conservative censorship and now they are terrified of actually having to follow through with it...The GOP is actually trying to run out the clock on this...
Don't let them!
Representatives from both Facebook and Twitter have testified before Congress, under oath, that their companies do not engage in political censorship.
Jack Dorsey, Twitter's CEO, testified in 2018 that "Twitter does not use political ideology to make any decisions, whether related to ranking content on our service or how we enforce our rules." Their decision last week to block the New York Post's piece about Joe and Hunter Biden shows that was a lie.
When asked about political bias guiding Facebook's policymaking, Founder Mark Zuckerberg testified under oath that "there is absolutely no directive in any of the changes that we make to have a bias on anything that we do. To the contrary, our goal is to be a platform for all ideas."
That is also obviously a lie. As we reported, one of the Executives behind the decision to suppress the New York Post story on Facebook was a woman named Anna Makanju. Before she became a Public Policy Executive at Facebook, Makanju was a special policy adviser for Europe and Eurasia to former US Vice President Joe Biden. In other words, she suppressed the Hunter Biden-Ukraine story because she was the one advising Biden on Ukrainian matters when he was Vice President... No wonder she doesn't want the truth to get out.
Those are just two of the hundreds of statements made by Dorsey, Zuckerberg, and a half-dozen other social media executives that we now can see were lies. Since they were delivered under oath, they amount to perjury.
But the GOP is too cowardly to even issue them subpoenas. Republican cowards are trying to run out the clock and avoid actually having to hold big tech accountable for this flagrant election interference.
You CANNOT allow them to do this!
These GOP cowards only care about one thing: preserving their power. Just like in 2016, cowards like Ben Sasse are turning on Trump and conservatives, thinking that it will help them cling onto power.
They would rather lose the election and be relegated to a powerless opposition party than actually have to do the things that they promised...
There is not even any guarantee that Lindsey Graham will actually approve the subpoenas on Thursday. Democrats are already promising to derail the subpoena by denying Graham the quorum he needs to conduct official business.
But even if Graham pushes the subpoenas through on Thursday, it will likely be too late to stop Big Tech from stealing the election for Joe Biden.
The only thing that these cowards fear is YOU. Right now, they think they can get away with stabbing you in the back like this. It is up to YOU to prove them wrong!
Our goal today is to bombard Congress with a half million FaxBlasts demanding they immediately issue subpoenas to Facebook and Twitter to testify this week and answer for their election interference.
But we need your help. We can't do this without your help!
